Tasmanian Racing finally returns to Hobart on Sunday afternoon, with an exciting eight-race card headlined by the $100,000 Listed Elwick Stakes for the two-year-olds.

The meeting also features the Summer Cup and Thousand Guineas, both worth $50,000.

The Summer Cup is the final lead up to the Hobart Cup, whilst the Thousand Guineas for the three-year-old fillies sees Hela attempt to remain unbeaten.

The track is rated a Good 4 with a top of 27 degrees forecast for the afternoon.

The rail is out 11m for the entire circuit, and at this setup, the track should play fair.

Hobart Race 4 Tip #5 Reward Achiever $4.00

The Glenn Stevenson trained four-year-old mare has had six career starts for one win and four placings, and I’m backing her to break through for her second win here.

She finished an eye-catching second last time out over 1220m at Launceston, after producing a strong finish through the line.

She should be at peak fitness third-up and looks well weighted with apprentice jockey Codi Jordan taking the 3kg claim.

From barrier 4, watch for Jordan to settle her off the pace, before pushing the button down the straight to give her every possible chance to win.

Hobart Race 5 Tip #5 Miss Charlie Brown $2.80

The Adam Trinder trained two-year-old filly is unbeaten after winning two lead-up races at Launceston with ease, and will take some beating here!

In the Alexandra Plate last start, she circled the field and proved too good for her rivals with a comfortable 1.5 length win.

Current short-priced favourite Turk Warrior appears to be the only danger, but has only had the one start for a win at this track in November.

Miss Charlie Brown has come through the two strongest lead up races.

From barrier 2, watch for jockey Bulent Muhcu to settle her midfield before giving her every possible chance to finish off strongly and remain unbeaten.

I expected her to open favourite, so I think she is a good bet at her current price!
