Queensland metropolitan racing returns to Eagle Farm this Saturday, and there has been some excellent feedback from numerous track riders on the surface work recently completed at the course.

A nine-race card is scheduled with plenty of stakes racing, including the Group 2 Victory Stakes over 1200m and the Group 3 Gunsynd Classic over 1800m.

The track is currently rated Good and the rail is in the true position. With fine weather forecast for Brisbane in the lead up to race day, punters can expect the track to be in great condition.

Eagle Farm Race 4 Tip #4 Jedaffair $7.00

Former Western Australian mare, who has performed well at this distance range.

She finished 1.5 lengths fifth in the Group 3 WA Oaks last year and has also won at 2200m.

The galloper moved stables to the astute Edmonds yard earlier this year and has had two runs over 1400m so far this prep. 

The stable has opted for a 2kg claim with Justin Huxtible taking the reins, and the rise in distance to 1800m third-up suggests that she's ready to peak.

 

Eagle Farm Race 7 Tip #8 Supergiant $12.00

Has improved in leaps and bounds since his debut maiden win at the Gold Coast back in November.

I feel this Michael Costa trained galloper is underrated, given how swiftly he has risen in class.

Last start at Doomben, he was sent out at long odds before stretching the smart Vanna Girl to a neck second after leading throughout.

I liked the way he finished through the line on that occasion, in a run that suggested the rise up to 1800m here will suit.

This will be a good test of his ability, however at the current quote he looks a great each-way bet. 

 

Eagle Farm Race Race 9 Tip #13 Shamurt $12.00

This Tony Gollan trained galloper has been crying out for 1400m, after finishing on the heels of the place-getters at her past couple over 1200m.

Her ability doesn’t match her record, given the mare has had her share of bad luck throughout her career to date.

Last time out, she encountered traffic at a crucial stage of the race. Once she found clear air in the final 50m however, she was very good. 

The wide gate here won’t play a part, as she'll likely drift back in the field after the jump. With the luxury of the long straight at the Farm, look for her to get going late with a big run.

Everything seems to be aligning for her now and she just needs a change of luck in order to fight out the finish.
