The Tattersalls Tiara is the final feature event of the Brisbane Winter Carnival and the last Group One for horse racing fans until Spring.
Some of Australia's best fillies and mares will line up for their share in a cool $500,000.
In past years, the Tatt's Tiara has proved to be a springboard for Spring riches. The most famous winner of the race was the Bart Cummings trained Dane Ripper (1997), who went on to score victory in the W.S Cox Plate the same year.
Eagle Farm Track Traits
The track is currently rated a Good 4, with the rail in the true position.
Jumping from the top of the back straight, runners have about 350m to find a position in the run before being met with the final turn.
Horses drawn towards the inside hold a slight advantage.
Racing Market Movers
The smart money has come for two runners.
Godolphin's Multaja has been $10 into $7.50, whilst Group One winner Spright is $11 after going up at $13.
Key Runners
#1 Invincibella $12.00
The winner of the Group Two Dane Ripper.
Had the gun run last start and has drawn well enough here to get a similar trip.
She's a quality mare who is always competitive at this level.
#2 Prompt Response $13.00
Defending champ who hasn't tasted victory since last year's victory, which is a concern.
She led them up at a slow pace last start at this track and had every possible chance. She could only hold out for third however, so it's hard to see her turning the tables on her rivals this time.
The wide draw in barrier 14 is a concern and with plenty of pace engaged, she could find herself wide throughout the run. Not this year!
#3 Spright $13.00 > $11.00
Ran a bottler of a race from last to finish fourth in the Group One Stradbroke.
She relished the step up to 1400m and off a hot speed, ran the fastest last 200m sectional of the race.
With plenty of speed engaged here, she'll be flying over the top late! Yes!
#5 Princess Posh $17.00
Chased hard in the Group One Kingsford Smith Cup, beating home Trekking who saluted in the Stradboke last Saturday.
Has drawn wide, but given her racing pattern she's far better suited to a wide draw.
She was a late scratching in the Straddie but if she's in good order for this, she'll be very competitive.
#9 Egg Tart $15.00
Last prep she kicked things off by running 4.3-lengths third behind Winx and Happy Clapper.
This is a significant drop in class and she's trialled well in the lead up to this.
However, the wide barrier is a big concern.
She'll be near last and will need to sprint well fresh.
She's the class horse of the race but her lack of fitness is the query.
#10 Savatiano $6.50
Was dominant in the Group Three Moreton Stakes.
She's drawn poorly for this run and will no doubt find the step up to Group One class a challenge.
Looks under the odds at the $6.50 and is worth risking from the wide gate.
#11 Noire $18.00
Ran home well off a slow pace in the Dane Ripper and looks set to receive speed map favours this time around.
Has no issue running out a strong 1400m and will no doubt be closing hard. Second-pick!
#17 Multaja $10.00 > $7.50
Couldn't have been more impressive when winning at Listed grade last start.
The early market support suggests she's ready to take the next step.
Will settle off the pace and can fly late.
#18 Pohutukawa $7.50
Was desperately unlucky in the Queensland Guineas and can easily measure up here.
The drop back to 1600m is a minor query but with plenty of pace expected, she'll be flying late.
She's short enough in the market given her racing style.
