Rick Morris and Michael Gannon reveal their free tips for Tuesday gallops around Australia.
Rick has assessed the Kyneton card and has identified a best bet later in the day, whilst Mic is all over a competitive Wyong card.
Kyneton is currently rated a Good 4, with the rail out 4m the entire circuit.
Meanwhile, Wyong will be racing on a Good 4 with the rail out 3m the entire circuit. At that set-up, on-pace runners will hold an advantage.
Best Bets from Rick Morris
Ballarat Race 6 Tip #4 Vanderland $4.20
This gelding is an unusual story, having been with 5 different trainers in his short 9 start career.
More recently, he was in the Sydney stables of Bjorn Baker and has recently transferred to the care of Smiley Chan at Cranbourne.
His maiden win back in March was an impressive performance. He fought all the way to the finish to hold out Stelvio, who has placed twice at Sandown recently, as well Go Troppo who won a BM72 in July.
The riding engagement of experienced hoop Jamie Mott adds confidence to how they rate his chances in this BM58.
Look for Mott to slot in just off the pace and make his move before straightening.
He finished second in a recent trial, which indicates he is ready for a first-up tilt here and could easily land the cash.
Best Bets from Michael Gannon
Wyong Race 1 #4 John Of Lancaster $8.50
Fair dinkum, imagine stumping up your hard earned to back Raging Bull at $1.40.
The booking of Tim Clark is a positive, but you couldn't back him with someone else's money at that price.
I am however very keen to bet on the John Thompson trained galloper.
He'll relish the step up to 2000m, gets the magic hands of Rachel King to take the reigns and has the blinkers applied first time.
His last start 6th of 9 was much better than it reads. He was moving into that race strongly on turning for home, but had nowhere to go. Once clear, he took a while to wind up but his last 50m and effort through the line was strong.
The key to his chances will be the tactics employed by King. If she can be positive from the barriers and head forward, I expect the son of Tavistok to give a massive sight.
