20/4/19 Randwick tips: All Aged Stakes

Gun sprinters & milers clash
AAPDistance | 1400m |

The All Aged Stakes always provides the opportunity for both sprinting and mile types to clash.
This year's edition is no different, with a number of runners coming straight out of the 1200m TJ Smith and a few dropping back from the 1600m Doncaster.
I am with one who arrives via the Doncaster and has a significant gear change, which should sharpen him right up.
Randwick Track Traits
The Randwick surface is currently rated a Good 4, with the rail out 6m from the 1600m mark to the winning post and 4m the remainder.
With the rail out this far and fine conditions predicted, the track should play fair.
This could change late in the day however, and a close watch is advised to determine any fast lanes.
Racing Market Movers
Osborne Bulls has been well backed in early betting, firming from an opening quote of $3.40 to now trade at $2.90.
All other runners remain steady.
Key Runners
#1 Le Romain $13
Gets blinkers on for the first time and is certain to catch the attention of punters with this key gear change.
He is likely to carve across from the wide draw (gate 14) to lead or sit close to speed in the moving line.
With good residual fitness, he is the one to beat and still appears some value at the current $13. Goes on top.
#2 Osborne Bulls $3.40 > $2.90
Is starting to become somewhat of a money muncher and looks short enough in the current market as the $2.90 favourite.
You can expect to receive a much better price on the day and I'm more inclined to risk at this stage.
Although he has been good all prep and is a winning hope, I'm happy to bet around on this occasion.
#3 Pierata $5
Had a nice run in the Group 1 TJ Smith at his latest here, when he wasn't too far off the winner (3.8 lengths) despite jumping awkwardly.
The speed looks genuine and rider Tommy Berry can take advantage if he's lucky enough to find cover midfield.
He could easily bounce back to top form in this and stays under notice. Yes.
#5 Malaguerra $14
Has another big race in him and did run well last start when placing 2 of 12 in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes at Caulfield.
I love the eight week freshen, which means he should be one of the sharper ones when they sprint.
He has gun rider Damian Lane to steer and looks a value runner at the current $15. Yes
#6 D'bai $5.50
Is an intriguing runner for Godolphin trainer Charlie Appleby, who missed last week in the Sydney Cup with fancied hope Dubhe.
The market gets a touch carried away with these internationals and Charlie's high profile. As such, this runner appears under the odds at the current quote ($5.50). Avoid.
#7 Manuel $17
Has been up a while now, with this being his sixth start this prep and staleness could be a factor.
The run in the Star Kingdom where he placed 2 of 7 last start was good, however that was on a testing Heavy 9 Rosehill track.
Expect him to feel the after affects this time around and is another that should be avoided. No.
#12 Champagne Cuddles $14

Of The Others
#14 Naantali is huge overs here at $41.
The stable must have a high opinion and confidence to take on this grade and she must go in everything.
She is a dual acceptor however if they do take on this class, an each-way ticket is a must. Yes.
