Ipswich Race 6 Tip #3 Vaporising $3.70

The trainer, jockey partnership of Tony Gollan & Ryan Maloney has a superb win rate of 30% this season.

They team up this time with this son of Wandjina, who hasn’t missed a place in four runs this prep.

He won two of those starts and his last start effort really caught my eye. On that occasion, he ran on well from back in the field to nab Poupee on the line.

Whilst it was only a neck margin, he still had something in reserve on the line.

From the good gate here, he will settle midfield and will just need Maloney to steer him through gaps in the straight.

The 1100m should be right up his alley and you can expect Maloney to boot him home for back to back victories.

Randwick-Kensington Race 6 Tip #10 Good Omens $6.50

This lightly raced mare returns to the races for the first time as a 4YO.

There was plenty of hype around her as a filly and while she struggled to put it all together consistently, she showed glimpses of her talent.

This was highlighted by her big 3.5 length victory at Kembla Grange to break her maiden status.

While that margin is impressive, it is worth noting she over raced badly but was just too good for that grade.

Her recent trials have been outstanding. She finished a close second behind Gleneagles in her first one, where she settled brilliantly over the 1030 metres.

Chris Waller is a master of getting the most of his horses as they mature, and it looks like he has fired Good Omens up for a big return to racing during the Spring Carnival.

In Good Omens' latest trial, she cruised the whole way under grips extending nicely in the straight.

Jason Collett jumps aboard the mare for the first time here. However, he's is in red hot form so if he can posy her nice and handy in the run she can let down for him in the straight.

The current price looks very tempting and hopefully we can fill our wallets before the Cox Plate weekend.

Geelong Race 1 Tip #10 Point Nepean $3.90

This 4YO stallion aims up for his Australian debut in a very winnable field.

He land on Aussie soil from Ireland and debuts for the Robert Hickmott stable in the famous Lloyd Williams colours.

These imported horses usually come to the forefront at this time of year and this lightly raced son of Camelot looks a good chance to continue that trend.

Ignoring a Covid effected 2020, Hickmott was striking at a handy 20.5% throughout the 2019 Spring period.

Point Nepean won on debut in Ireland over the 2615m with 60.5kg on his back on a Soft track.

He then went into Weight-For-Age Listed grade afterwards and ran a moderate seventh. To put him straight in that level of racing off the back of a maiden win indicates he has ability.

The horse has had no public trials or jump outs, but that can often be the case with these imports.

He only has to carry 58kg and from the draw, I can see him settling around midfield with cover.

I am putting my trust in the Hickmott stable to have him ready to go fresh and he is a terrific chance to kick off Geelong Cup Day on the right note here.
