18/1/20 Rosehill tips and best bets

Rosehill Gardens plays host to a competitive nine-race card this Saturday. 

With 10-30mm of rain predicted to fall in Sydney in the lead up to race-day, the track should be rain affected. Expect a Heavy 8, with the rail in the true position.  

At this set-up, the track should play fair and afford all runners their chance.

Rosehill Race 2 Tip #1 Show Me The Money $18.00 each-way 

The son of Choisir was held up the entire straight last start and should have featured in the finish over the 1200m at Rosehill. 

He now steps out to the 1500m fourth-up, gets Kerrin McEvoy to ride and will relish the predicted rain affected track. 

With limited speed engaged in this race, look for McEvoy to take advantage of the inside draw and take up a forward position in the run. Ideally, we want him settled in behind the leader. 

If the race unfolds to plan, he'll be chasing hard to the line and is a genuine winning chance at the big odds!

 

Rosehill Race 7 Tip #9 River Bird $9.00 

This mare from the Jason Coyle yard was a regular in our best bets columns at her last prep and duly saluted in four of her six runs. 

She's had two nice trials in preparation for this run and appears to have come back in good order. 

She's shown a liking for rain affected surfaces, so if the track is wet she'll handle it. 

Drawn barrier 10 and with a tonne of early speed engaged, she can sit at the back of the field and fly late. 

I'm expecting this mare to go to the next level this preparation and this is the perfect measuring stick for her connections.
