16/3/19 Flemington tips and best bets

Strong All Star Mile support card
49176This week's Flemington card presents punters with a number of deep betting races, where value can be found throughout.
Sprint and middle distance events both prop up what is already a significant day, with the inaugural running of the All Star Mile.
This day appears likely to gain traction in future years, as the novelty feature becomes a mainstay on the nation's racing calendar.
Speed maps look to hold the key this week and should be closely analysed when assessing a particular runner's chances.
Race 6 Grand Handicap Mile Final Hcp (BM 80) 1600m
There's speed from Gasworx (19), who will look to carve across from an outside draw (gate 19), allowing Sir Edwin Landseer (9) to hunt up underneath.
This should present a strong tempo race, giving those back in the field every chance to run-on hard.
Of the run-on types, Remember The Name (2) will get the run of the race and with luck, dart through inside the final 100m.
She was good last start at Flemington when she didn't have the best get away. Can atone.
Main Stage (20) looks the class runner and with a good ride from Craig Williams, can slot in and be running home hard.
The interesting runner is Lord Gododdin (7) who arrives here from the UK before the one good run at Newcastle.
They have found Hugh Bowman to ride and he could just blow them away.
Best of the rest is Diplomac Jack (1), who won't spend a cent from the inside draw. He can suck up behond the leaders to have plenty left to offer in the straight.
Best Racing Tips
1st Remember The Name
2nd Lord Gododdin
3rd Main Stage
4th Diplomac Jack
Race 7 VRC Seppelt Wines March Stakes (Hcp) Listed 1400m
Hellova Street (16) burns out to lead here and there appears to be plenty of speed underneath her to suggest this will be run at warp speed.
Streets Of Avalon (12) and Zebulon (2) can both find midfield positions in the running line. If they can slot in with cover, they are both a huge threat.
Don't discount Manolo Blahniq (18) who will be forced to go back from a tricky draw in gate 18. He will have the race tempo to suit and can get home over the top.
Plein Ciel (11) appears good value at the current $11, with strong first up form (4:1-1-2) and healthy stakes level experience.
As a dual acceptor, Widgee Turf (5) is most likely to opt for Sydney however he'd be a leading hope if he lines up here.
Best Racing Tips
1st Streets Of Avalon
2nd Manolo Blahniq
3rd Plein Ciel
4th Zebulon

Race 9 Furphy Grand Sprint Final Hcp (BM 80) 1200m
The speed horses are all drawn towards the inside here, which should ensure they come down the inside to middle sections of the Flemington straight at a moderate tempo.
Expect Blue Tycoon (1) with the rails draw to be prominent and although the field won't race hard up against the inside, he can drift across to lead in the better going toward the middle.
Villa Sarchi (10) looks massive odds and from the ideal gate, he can unleash his customary lethal turn of foot late to claim them all.
Is the value runner at a current quote of $15.
Mastering (11) is very hard in early betting markets.
He had excuses when poorly away last start here over 1400m, before battling away to finish 10 of 10.
He can bounce back over the shorter trip and has Oliver to steer.
Of the others, throw in topweight Enigman (5) who the stable have a huge opinion of and can run a nice race at odds.
Best Racing Tips
1st Blue Tycoon
2nd Mastering
3rd Villa Sarchi
4th Enigman
