Ipswich Race 5 Tip #1 Xanthus $2.45
This son of Better Than Ready has been a good money spinner for connections, collecting north of $175K in prizemoney.
His record of 4 wins from his 17 starts to date may not look flash, but he has faced fierce competition throughout his career.
He steps back in grade to a Class 4 here after a solid showing in the Newmarket Handicap at Murwillumbah.
He closed off in that race nicely, finishing 0.7 lengths third and the winner Amirykal has won again since.
From barrier 4, look for him to position up on speed and he'll just need to get a clear run in the straight to gather these in.
Reaching peak fitness now third-up, I expect him to get to the centre of the track and prove too powerful over the concluding stages.

Randwick-Kensington Race 7 Tip #2 Ashim $8.00
I have been a fan of this French import since his arrival to Australia.
His trials were brilliant and he backed those up with two almighty efforts to start his campaign.
The second of those runs was at Randwick, on a day where half the meeting got cancelled due to abhorred weather.
He surged to the line in the clash, when no other horse managed to make ground. However, this effort came at a price.
At his next few efforts, he was very flat when short in the market.
Trainer Matt Smith wisely elected to give him a 4 week let up and now this 5YO gelding resumes here against a very winnable field.
With an abundance of speed out wide, jockey Tom Sherry will be expected to push forward and slot in behind the leading division.
With an economical run, expect Ashim to peel to the outside and let down at the finish to notch up his first Australian victory.

Randwick-Kensington Race 3 Tip #5 Dinado $11.00
This Toranado mare appreciates the rain affected going and is set to peak fourth-up for this clash.
Her last start came on the Kenso over 1550m, with Josh Parr aboard. She rattled home in a leader dominated race, suggesting she'd relish a rise in distance at her next start.
Her 3 career wins have come at 1600m and beyond, so we can expect her to produce her peak run this preparation at this start.
Parr sticks and from barrier 6, I suspect he'll be more positive this time around to sit third or fourth in the running line.
If Parr can secure the gun run in transit, her rivals will have a huge task ahead.
She ticks plenty of boxes and the $11 available looks huge overs!
