15/09/21 Happy Valley Tips & best bets for today

Horse racing continues today at Happy Valley, with 8 races to be held on the 'C' course.

Fine weather is predicted for the day with the track rated in the Good range.

Last Wednesday's Happy Valley meeting was dominated by the big 3, Joao Moreira, Zac Purton and Karis Teetan.

But for tonight's meeting, plenty of local jockeys have nice rides.

Local trainers Danny Shum and Dennis Yip have had a good start to the new season.

Danny has some talented horses lining up in the final races of the meeting, while Dennis has a strong contingent engaged are in the first 5 races.

 

 

Happy Valley Race 2 #7 Flash Famous $20 / $4.80

Flash Famous's poor performance at the end of last season was forgivable, as he did not suit the distance in that run.

For this clash, he returns to the 1650m at Happy Valley, which is his best course and distance and could see him bounce back.

Currently he is at a competitive rating of 50 and will run well.

He's had a good barrier trial in preparation for the new season and with Derek Leung on board, he looks a strong chance at big odds.

 

Happy Valley Race 4 #1 Fire Ball $2.60

Fire Ball performed well last campaign and can bring that form into the new season.

He's a last start winner over this course and distance, and did well over the summer has residual fitness.

Although he hasn't had a barrier trial leading into this race, he had several good gallops under Zac Purton which bodes well for such a small horse.

He will still be racing in Class 4 on Wednesday and despite the top weight, he's drawn well and look set for a win.
