With the Spring Carnival heating up, punters will be keen to check out David Gately's early oil for some of the highlights throughout the season.

This week we look at Gator's selections and thoughts for the richest turf race on the planet, The Everest.

The pinnacle of Australian sprint racing, The Everest sees the some of the world's quickest horses fight it out for the riches and glory on offer.

Let's see what David Gately says about the race...

The Everest tips

MASKED CRUSADER

Silenced many last prep when measuring right up to the world-class sprinters off the back of a dominant G1 win in Melbourne. His recent trial and first-up win were nothing short of outstanding. The one on the up too!

ROTHFIRE

Hope he gets back to his best because fancy his best is world-class also! Runs serious times, absorbs speed. Recent trial win was also very good.

Rothfire

NATURE STRIP

He has the runs on the board, it's a simple as that.

No reason to think he will go backwards and now well and truly proven at elite 1200m level.

CLASSIQUE LEGEND

Brilliant winner in this race last year. Has had issues since and that is a query but if 100% he surely goes close again!

The Everest odds for the all-in market

Runner Win $
Nature Strip $4.50
Masked Crusader $5
Classique Legend $6
Lost And Running $8
Rothfire $11
Eduardo $13
Anamoe $15
Gytrash $15
Paulele $15
The Inferno $21
