NSW Saturday metropolitan racing returns to Sydney this weekend, as Rosehill hosts a cracking nine race card.

The track is currently rated a Heavy 8 however with the sun beaming down on the harbour city over recent days, you can expect an upgrade to the Soft range.

The rail is in the true position for the entire circuit and at this set-up, expect the track to play fair.

Rosehill Race 5 Tip #1 Prime Star $2.80

This looks a perfect race for the Freedman trained gelding to strike first-up after a short spell.

The 3YO son of Starspangledbanner is well placed at the set weights conditions, with the highest benchmark rating. That makes him clear of the next best runner by 16 rating points.

Interestingly, he should be conceding his rivals 8kg, however gets in on level weights for this clash.

The talented gelding comes in with superior form-lines, having run well behind Peltzer in the Bondi Stakes last Autumn as well as a very strong first-up effort behind Rocketing last preparation.

He has been sent back to the trials in readiness for this clash, where he looked to move swiftly.

Tommy Berry sticks with the gelding and he has drawn perfectly to get a soft run in transit.

From there, with strong wet form and a win at Rosehill under his belt, I expect him to be awfully hard to beat.

Rosehill Race 9 Tip #16 Count De Rupee $3.20

The 3YO gelding has returned super this prep and looks set to reach new heights off some smart trials and a very good first-up run.

The Price team have him absolutely flying and have placed him well on Saturday.

He is coming off a very good first-up run, where he was set a task with break away leader Marway settling some 10 lengths in front of Count De Rupee in the run.

I loved the way he set off after the leader when he lowered in stride and pinned the ears back.

His final 600m (32.66) and 400m (21.76) sectionals were the clear meeting fastest.

Second-up for this clash, he will strip a lot fitter and rises to 1400m which suits.

From barrier 4, look for Berry to get a perfect run just off the speed. He has a sharp turn off foot which allows him to get out of a tricky spot.

With the Rosehill rail in the true position, he should get every chance.

His form-lines are very impressive, given Marway has since bolted in winning the Wagga Cup by 4 lengths. He also boasts a 1.9 length second to Private Eye on a Heavy 9, who has since franked that form-line with a very nice prep this time in.

We can also tie in Enchanted Heart, who beat Marway three starts back and has since won the listed Takeover Target Stakes at Gosford.

This looks a perfect race for the progressive 3YO, who has come back bigger and stronger. We can expect a top-notch run come Saturday for this exciting horse.
