Doomben Race 5 Tip #5 Liza With A Zee $3.50
This Tony Gollan trained filly has really impressed me in recent runs with her toughness and desire to win.
Even though Liza continues to mature with more racing, she is managing to string together a strong record of results having won four of her nine starts to date.
She tackles the 1100M today at Doomben, a distance that suits her perfectly with three of her wins coming at this distance range.
Looking back at her last start, she fought on doggedly after hitting the front in the straight holding off all challengers for a convincing 0.8 length win.
Although Liza steps up in grade today, the 3kg claim from Leah Kilner brings her down to the minimum 54kg which will hold her in good stead.
Look for Kilner to position her in the leading group, a role she loves to dictate from, which will give Liza every possible chance to keep her great winning record intact.

Canterbury Race 5 Tip #5 Turnstyle $4.00
This 4YO mare really hasn't had the best of luck this campaign after starting with a bang.
Three starts ago she dwelt at the start and had to muster on tough conditions. She tired late and faded out of the race
Two starts back she gave weight to the whole field carrying 61kg and put in a strong run finishing 2.9 lengths 4th.
Her last run was only a week ago at the Kenso track and once more was caught on the wrong part of the track where she struggled to make ground.
Today she comes to Canterbury with a couple of key changes in her favour.
Firstly gun Jockey James McDonald takes the reigns. J Mac was the last jockey to get the best out of Turnstyle, getting her home four runs back at Warwick Farm.
On that day, she was ridden aggressively and responded to McDonald's urgings. I expect similar tactics to be in play today.
Additionally, Turnstyle returns to the 1100M a distance which suits her perfectly.
From the good gate, J Mac will push forward and hold a key position along the rail. These tactics will suit the racing pattern at Canterbury and Turnstyle can salute at nice odds.

Canterbury Race 2 Tip #3 Head Legislator $2.00
Really keen on the chances of this now gelded Matt Dunn trained galloper.
He returns to the races today after a spell from his first proper campaign as a three year old.
If he picks up where he left off last prep in Queensland, he will be very hard to beat.
The one form-line in particular I want to highlight is a 2 length second to Orbisyn who is regarded as one of the brightest racing prospects up north.
Head Legislator has trialled an absolute treat with a convincing win on the Gold Coast under minimal riding.
Expect Jason Collett to hold a forward position behind the pace setters and make a move just before the bend to bring him into the race.
I expect this horse to break his maiden today and go onto bigger and better races.
