Doomben Race 4 Tip #8 A River Somewhere $2.50
There has been a fair amount of precipitation around Brisbane, so we are looking at a heavy track rating at this stage.
I’m forgiving her last run as she didn’t stride out on the good 4 track and finished well back.
She has had a nice trial win since where she comfortably and wasn’t over extended.
The Tony Gollan trained mare’s best runs have been on rain affected tracks and at her run prior she bolted in on a soft 6 surface.
Stephanie Thornton will pilot her again and take up a spot in the first four.
Expect Thornton to get the best out of her now and bounce back with authority.

Warwick Farm Race 3 Tip #8 French Marine $5.00
This lightly raced gelding finally showed his true ability with his last victory at Armidale.
From an inside barrier he was able to break cleanly taking up a front running position.
He was pestered the whole race by his challengers taking short, sharp cracks at him up top.
He was very brave late and fought them off, even after being headed in the straight for a small period.
He gets his first crack in the city today and off his last performance he has earned it.
French Marine drops 6 kilos down to 54kg and this is the lightest weight he has carried over his short career.
There appears to be a lack of speed on paper so expect him to get the perfect set up. Jockey Kerrin McEvoy can get cheap sectionals up top before making the move prior to the bend to kick away from them.
Follow with confidence.

Caulfield Race 5 Tip #13 Agreeable $5
Hard not to be with this 4yo mare. She put in an excellent run first-up behind Flying Mascot at Bendigo over the 1300m.
Flying Mascot has since come out and finished second at Ballarat on Sunday, narrowly beaten by 0.2 lengths to the handy Hickok.
Agreeable recorded the quickest last 600m and 200m of the race.
She comes into this second-up and drops right down in the weights from 60kg to 54kg, with the step up in grade.
The soft draw in barrier three will only assist her chances and with the rail out 9m, this should favour inside barriers.
Second-up last preparation she stepped up to Three-year-old Fillies Handicap and won impressively at Caulfield.
I also believe this is a race with a lot of depth.
Il Affare has class but will need the run coming over from New Zealand. Good And Proper has been racing in tougher grade, but not running great time. The favourite Frankie Pinot has the times and form but will endure the tough run from barrier ten.
She looks hard to beat if she gets the break up the inside and the soft run.
