Sandown Race 6 #7 The Swooper $8.50

This promising 3YO Gelding resumes from a spell after showing plenty of talent in his first few starts. 

After a 4th behind 'Jacquinot' on debut, this son of 'Divine Prophet' went on to run 2nd and then break his maiden at Moonee Valley at his last start. 

Now returning to the track, he has had two solid jump-outs at Flemington, winning the most recent. 

He should land up on-pace from barrier 9 with little-to-no speed drawn inside of him and will either take up the running or settle in behind the pace on the rail. 

The Sandown Lakeside track historically favours on-pace runners whenever the rail is between the 3-7m positions.

Damien Oliver takes the ride and has a solid record at the Sandown Lakeside track over his career with a 13.7% winning strike rate. 

The Hawkes stable has been in solid form recently (16 winners from their last 100 runners) and also has a good winning strike rate at this track at 15.2%. 

Has plenty in his favour and is paying a very good price to get his preparation off to a winning start first-up.

Canterbury Race 3 #3 Boominartie $2.80

This talented gelding finally broke through at career start number 6 a fortnight ago at Ballarat.

While it has taken him a while to get out of maiden grade, you can argue he has finished in the placings behind some really smart Saturday grade types.

Even at his last start when beating Nishino Crescent, that horse has since come out and won at $1.10 yesterday.

He is set to get a great lead from barrier 1 with minimal pressure to his outside.

Gets the inform Dylan Gibbons fresh off a treble at Randwick on Saturday and can make it two on the bounce.

Doomben Race 7 #6 Deep Rouge $3.00

This mare has been well-fancied in the betting at her past couple of starts and has put together a couple of solid performances.

Her best efforts over her career have been at this 1100m sprint trip (3:2-1-0) and she is ready to peak after four starts this preparation.

Mark Du Plessis, who has ridden her at her past three starts, will position her in the second half of the field and look to run on strongly.

Back in grade to a BM68, she looks well placed to get back in the winner's circle.
