Holy Freeze - Caulfield R3 No.3

Nothing went right for him at Sandown, yet he only went down by a 1.5 lengths after finishing hard to grab third. Jockey John Allen intended to settle closer than he did but he rececived a check early in the race, which pushed him back in the field. Following that he was held up rounding the home turn and layed in under pressure when making ground.

He’ll continue to develop with racing and is well worth another chance here.

Danuki - Caulfield R8 No.9

Stewards reported he was severely buffeted at the start when last out, after Plateau Gold shifted abruptly after jumping. He was then held-up near the 400m.

Have been playing ducks and drakes to find a suitable race but this looks like it could be it.

Shogun Sun - Doomben R7 No.4

Showed his ability second-up when he was supposed to be making up the numbers in the opening event with a couple of boom Sydneysiders carrying 'superior' form into the race. But he was the best horse and won the race easily.

Christian Reith rode patiently, but the three-year-old son of Written Tycoon had work to do on the turn and took a narrow split before reeling off a final 200m split of 11.62 seconds to secure his 1-1/4 lengths win. That was the fastest final split of the meeting and it wasn't a fluke.

He resumes from a spell here after racing in Sydney and this should be a good first up chance.

Logan River - Randwick R4 No.3

Tony McEvoy continues to produce quality two-year-olds this season and this bloke looks to be no different. The Snitzel colt showed good early speed in his trial, doing it easiest to win by two lengths under his own steam.  Good run for third first-up at Sandown.
