My free best bets for today take place at Tamworth, with a competitive 7 race card ahead.
The rail is out 2m for the entire circuit, with the track rated a Heavy 9.
The last meeting here with a similar set-up was on 23rd July 2021. The track played fair that day, allowing winners to come from mid-field and beyond. Jockeys did tend to avoid the inside, however the last two winners of the day were drawn in barrier 1 and 3.
Check out my two plays below and then back the remainder of my tips via HOT Bet here.
Tamworth Race 4 #2 Miss Powerbelle $2.00
This 6YO mare hasn't been seen since her impressive win over Cockey Rocky on a Heavy 8 at Moree. Cocky Rocky franked that form by winning well in tougher grade at its next start.
This mare has had a number of setbacks over her career and was sent to the paddock after that win, which is some concern.
She returned to the trials on September 22 running 3rd behind Kinloch and Toto on a Soft 7, before running 2nd to Mezinjit at her second trial this prep.
Her fresh record is fantastic and given she's had two trials in preparation for this, she should be ready to produce.
The 31-week spell is obviously a query, but betting will tell the story there. Her wet track form is far superior to her rivals and if she runs near her last start rating, she'll smash these.
At her last start she beat 2nd favourite Lord Tony by 6.59 lengths. That was on a Heavy track and they both meet first-up today.
Four of the six runners are first-up, so that's a big leveller in regards to race fitness.
Miss Powerbelle has an abundance of talent and gets the track conditions to suit today. If she's right, she'll be winning!
Tamworth Race 7 #2 La Tigeresa $4.20
Another runner who is off a long spell, this time 345 days.
The daughter of Epaulette was transferred from Michael & Richard Freedman to William Freedman, so there's no doubting that there is still plenty of ability left in her. You'd think the owner's would be keen to see some rewards for their patience today.
She's had two soft trials over 100m in preparation and has always produced well first-up.
His career peak came on a Heavy 9, so I suspect she'll enjoy the rain affected track today.
From barrier 2, Ashley Morgan can find the running line before peeling off heels and having the final crack at them late.
