11/07/21 Sha Tin Racing Tips and Best Bets

Hong Kong Sunday racing fans are presented with a huge 11 race card, featuring two Class One trophies. There is some quality racing ahead, with 13 horses rated higher than 100 in these two feature races.

Zac Purton scored a double at Happy Valley on Wednesday, but is suspended for this meeting, Purton ends this season with 125 winners.

Joao Moreira has the jockey premiership locked up with 152 winners and will no doubt add to that tally today.

Sauvestre, a winner in Sydney on the Canterbury track, will make his Hong Kong debut in Race 9.

The weather will be hot and dry in Hong Kong on Sunday, with the looking to be good to firm.

 

 

Sha Tin Race 8  #4 Reliable Team $9.00

Reliable Team looks very well weighted with 56kg today and is well suited over the mile, where his record is 5:3-1-1.

He's two from two over this track and distance, with one of those wins coming with Derek Leung aboard.

Leung knows the horse well, partnering with him three times this season resulting in a win and two placings.

Reliable Team will jump from gate 10, which is not a bad draw over the 1600m course, especially since there is no obvious leader in this race.

He could very well get a soft lead and prove too strong late.

 

Sha Tin Race 10 #2 Stronger $3.30

Stronger has to carry 60kg to victory, but is strong enough to overcome it.

He's recently finished close in group races and was only just beaten by Courier Wonder last time out in the Group 3 Sha Tin Vase.

This colt had an impressive barrier trial on 29 June. He jumped very fast and stayed wide throughout, running on well.

Jumping from barrier three, he can show some gate speed just like what he did in the barrier trial and follow the leader in the perfect trail position.

Vincent Ho will be on board again. He is a suitable jockey for this horse, who can win again today.
