Sandown Racing: Guineas Preview 2018

Filly set to spoil the party again

We saw it in the Coolmore Stud Stakes when the lone girl Sunlight took on the boys and won.
Expect a similar result here from the only filly in the field. She has a significant class edge which should see her running home hard over the top in the concluding stages.
A number of these are either seeing the mile for the first time or have never won at the distance, which could be telling late.
Watch betting for any vicious moves to provide leads.

Racing Market Movers
Race favourite Seabrook is a slight drifter in early betting, easing from $3.30 to $3.50.
Key Runners
#1 Long Leaf $7.50
Has raced in good grade his entire career and last start was only 3.9 lengths off the winner when 6 of 10 in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud stakes.
He will find this much easier and appears to be looking for 1600m now.
Should have favours from gate 4, where Mark Zahra will receive a nice tow into the race at some stage.
Appears very well placed. Yes.
#2 Good And Fast $12
Has disappointed at his past few when finishing well back, however he does have a 1600m win on the board from last prep in stakes grade.
Many of these have not been up to a mile and the experience could be invaluable for those that have.
No doubt he will run this trip right out and if the speed goes on up front, look for him to be charging home late.
Needs a genuine tempo to be a factor.
#3 Ringerdingding $3
Is the new boom horse following a slashing run at Moonee Valley two starts back, and then he came from the clouds last start to run home over the top of them in in the Listed Springtime Stakes at Flemington.
This race looks deeper than what he's been taking on and he will be forced to peak up again.
There is no reason why he can't however and with any form of tempo, he will mow them all down over the final 50m.
Getting down to rock bottom odds, however he must still be considered a leading hope.
#4 Scottish Rogue $9
Fought hard in the Springtime Stakes to just go down when placing second behind Ringerdingding.
He has the tactical speed to take a forward position here and is our likely leader.
In a race that appears to lack speed, he will roll along and if left unchallenged, could easily kick away from them in the straight.
Huge speed map favours. Yes.
#5 Secret Blaze $7.50
Must be a genuine chance in this after placing 3 of 14 in the Group 3 Carbine Club, where he had excuses after being held up at a vital stage.
The McEvoy stable are flying and their ability to place them well is second to none.
With the strong 1600m run under the belt, he will be very honest. Top hope.
#7 Zoutori $11
Also comes via the Carbine Club where he finished 5 of 14 and beaten only 3.2 lengths when held up during the run.
There was some support in betting late to suggest he would run well when backed from $15 into $10, and that would indicate he's flying.
Must be considered on SP profile alone and is one where the betting market again can give us a good lead late.
Watch betting for any vicious moves.
#12 Seabrook $3.30 > $3.50
High class filly who took on ultra top class as a 2yo.
One year older now and whilst competing at Group 1 level in her past three starts, she's been very frustrating for punters who had high expectations for her this prep.
Back to a much weaker grade here, she can improve significantly and if right, she should have lengths on these.
Gets a nice 2kg weight pull as the only girl here against the boys, and will be charging home late. Must go on top.
