Our loyal readers had a fill-up at Flemington last Saturday, after we found both Kallos ($11) and Grand Promenade ($4.60) at nice odds.
This week a Peter Moody debutant has attracted strong support in the opener at Caulfield.
Whilst at Randwick, J Mac has chosen to jump aboard a last start Lismore winner!
Caulfield Tips
Brereton
Peter Moody 2YO colt who has trialled well (2 of 5 at Cranbourne) leading into this.
The stable are now known for their placing them to perfection, and it appears someone closely associated to the yard is wagering heavily on their advice.
Gate 6 means they should have no traffic issues and can find an ideal moving line position.
New York Baby
Could not have been more impressive in both career starts, where at the latest he simply brained them all down the Flemington straight.
Troy Corstens has always had a big wrap on this filly and will expect her to go right on with it here.
The GOAT Damien Oliver is booked and although this is a hot race, expect her to be in the finish.
Bella Nipotina
Has had a great preparation this time in, winning 2 of 5 and never out of the placings.
She is rock hard fit from recent racing and from gate 3, should receive the dream run just in behind.
This is a tough Group 2 level test, however she deserves her chance and could easily upset her more fancied rivals.
I’m Thunderstruck
High-quality animal who loves to get back and come with a late rush over the top late.
He was a touch unlucky last start in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes, when he was checked at a vital stage yet still managed to place a close up 3 of 16.
Given any luck here and possibly ridden slightly closer, he should prove very hard to beat.
Randwick Tips
Bahamut
J Mac tells the story here, as his form man would have had a good look at this Highway field before taking his pick.
The last start Lismore win was impressive and importantly there was good market support for him that day.
James McDonald does not jump on these for fun.
Mirror Vision
Is racing in great heart, with plenty of wins on the board this preparation.
She was excellent last start in the Group 3 Tibbie Stakes at Newcastle where, she sat outside the lead and was very brave when placing 2 of 13.
She should be the fittest horse in the race and is sure to be one of the strongest late.
Head Of State
Chris Waller colt who won well at Rosehill last time out, when running on strongly to collar them all.
Waller would be keen to get a result for the powerful Coolmore team and should have the horse trained to the minute.
From gate 9, they can find cover mid-field and be peeling to run home at just the right time.
Great News
Has been a popular plunge horse of late, starting favourite at her past two and before that, backed at good odds to win at Randwick.
The money has stayed in the bag on all these occasions, however punters look keen to get a return here.
She should race close to speed and given any mid-race breather, will be kicking hard late.
