Doomben Race 8 Tip #1 Roman Aureus $2.60

This Wakefield Racing bred galloper has been a good money spinner for the stable, notching up 4 wins from 13 starts and earning $170K in prizemoney.

He is undefeated over the track and distance (3:3-0-0) and looks a great chance to add to that unblemished record today.

Whilst he is a dual acceptor having entered in a BM85 at the Gold Coast this Saturday, it appears this Class 5 is a more desirable option noting he won a Class 6 over this track and distance in August 2020.

Apprentice Justin Huxtable takes over the ride and claims 1.5 kgs, getting him down to a manageable weight of 59 kgs.

From the inside draw, Huxtable should position midfield within a few lengths of the leaders.

He will just need to manoeuvre him into a good spot near the turn, so he can build momentum and finish off too strong for them.

Wagga Race 1 Tip #1 Prince Aurelius $2.60

The son of Love Conquers All showed good early speed last start and produced a strong front running win.

He steps out to the 1600m fourth-up and is now at peak fitness.

The 3kg claim for Maddison Waters suits and from barrier 7, I expect him to roll forward and prove awfully hard to run down.
