Whilst she is only a two-year-old taking on the older horses, she looks well suited having her second go at 1400m in what is a moderate maiden.

Look for experienced hoop Craig Newitt to find a position on-speed again and dictate the pace.

She should be able to get the job done here, kick starting her career.

 

Ballarat Race 5 Tip #1 Maritana $3.40

His effort last start to finish 1.5 lengths sixth to Mr Tipla at Flemington was very encouraging, considering she ran past Design Rouge in the process who she clashes with again here.

Regular jockey Carleen Hefel stays on board and should be able to find a nice spot just off the speed from barrier 2.

The step up to 1500m appears ideal at this stage of his prep and he should find this assignment slightly easier than his past couple of runs.

Hefel knows this horse pretty well, so she should be able to time her run to perfection and get this bloke back in the winner's circle.
