Moody runner crunched
AAPTagged: Horse Racing Tips, Rosehill, Flemington
We identified the smart Plaquette ($4.80) last week at Caulfield, which jumped at $3.60 before braining them all.
This week the Flemington card sees a Peter Moody runner early in the day attracting genuine support.
Whilst at Rosehill, Tim Clark should simply lead and win on one for Gai and Adrian.
Flemington Tips
Snickerdoodledandy
Peter Moody is flying and is taking great care these days to place them where they can win.
They have also found Jamie Kah to ride, which is now a very good lead for punters.
Expect them to go back from the gate (barrier 10), where she should be suited by her natural run-on pattern.
Commands The Field
Won on debut at Cranbourne in a small field (4 runners) over 1000m.
This is clearly much harder, however I have to respect the stable confidence in bringing her to town.
If the pattern on the day is wider lanes down the straight, expect them to get the right run from gate 10 and be charging late.
Way To Go Paula
Was fancied ($6.50 into $5.00) in Listed grade at Morphettville last start, before being trapped wide throughout in a “forgive run”.
From gate 8 and with speed anticipated, expect her to slot in for some cover.
Ben Allen to Jamie Kah is also a significant upgrade and she should receive every chance.
Marcolt
Was backed to win here last start ($11 into $7.00) and did run home strongly from well back.
He could take more improvement out of the last start effort, and now rock hard fit they may be ridden a touch closer.
Patrick Payne does place them to perfection and he is right in this. Yes.
Rosehill Tips
Wicklow
Broke Maiden status last start at Newcastle and finds a weak off-season race here to go right on with it.
The ownership group are high profile types and would have invested heavily in this import.
Expect Waller to be very keen to impress and repay the faith, and he may have personally managed the preparation of this one.
Mensa Missile
Gai/Bott and T Clark have a wonderful association and he is often the “money rider” for this stable.
The recent runs have been sound and he has not missed a place at his past three outings having won at Newcastle two starts back.
Clark can take control here jumping straight to the front and proving very hard to run down. Yes.
Shadow Crush
Started favourite on the Kensington track last start when chasing hard to prevail close to home.
He appears to race well deeper into the prep and there could be some further improvement to come.
There looks to be a ton of speed engaged which should allow the rider to “smoke the pipe” out the back, before charging home late.
Starla
Chalked up some impressive sectional times at this track and trip first-up and any improvement off that run should see her go close.
Tommy Berry has remained in Sydney to ensure the Jockey’s premiership is his, and he will be pulling out all stops to win here.
Expect them to race midfield in the moving line and peel on entering the straight.
