Hobart Race 2 Tip #2 War Correspondent $1.80

All eyes will be on the exciting Glenn Stevenson trained gelding as he resumes from a break in the $30,000 Carbine Club Plate.

He produced a 2.75-length win in the 3YO Cup over 1200m at Launceston in November before spelling.

He makes his return to competitive racing off the back of two impressive trials, and is yet to miss the quinella in his career (6:2-4-0).

From barrier 6, look for jockey Ismail Toker to settle him on speed before pushing the button at the top of the straight, proving too strong for his rivals.

Hobart Race 6 Tip #5 Lucky Lil $2.10

The consistent Scott Brunton trained 5YO mare has had four starts this preparation for one win and two placings.

She flew home from the tail of the field and finished half a length behind subsequent winner Supalopo last start over 1600m at Launceston, which looks to be the strongest form.

She returns to her home track, and jockey David Pires jumps back on with a consistent record on the mare (6:3-1-1).

From barrier 3, look for Pires to settle her close to midfield before making a move at the top of the straight to give her every possible chance to win.
