Trial Leads
AAPTagged: Horse Racing Tips
There looks to be plenty of “trial watcher” money flying around in early betting ahead of Saturday's key meetings, with a number of first-up horses very popular.
At Moonee Valley a smart 3YO returns and looks suited by the expected wet conditions.
Whilst at Randwick, a potential superstar is expected to simply win over what some may have considered an unsuitable 1400m.
Moonee Valley Tips
Taunting
Smart 3YO colt who dominated in South Australia as a 2YO and deserves his trip to Melbourne to face Saturday metro grade.
He has been readied with a recent soft trial win and Michael Hickmont will be keen to impress on the big Melbourne stage.
The excellent wet form (3:2-1-0) is also a massive tick, as plenty of rain is expected to hit Moonee Valley over the coming days.
Coolth
Charged home to just miss at this track last start, when having genuine excuses after being held up.
He should race back in the field and just needs a touch of tempo to allow him to swoop home over the top
Rider Damian Lane is an upgrade from Luke Currie, and could improve the horse significantly.
Esta La Rocca
Wasn’t far off the smart Beu Rossa two starts back, and then went very close last time out when 2 of 7 over this track and trip.
He loves to lead and run them along and could be well suited, if the rain comes and a leader bias emerges.
Expect him to be right up to beating a number of his more fancied rivals. Yes.
Skyman
Waller runner who races well second-up (4:2-1-0) and looks primed following a solid first-up effort here when placing 2 of 11.
They may try to ride a touch closer on this occasion and from gate 1,2 can find the moving line with cover.
Fitter now, he'll be ready to explode.
Randwick Tips
Parksville
Country galloper who won 3 straight to round out last prep, and looked to return in good order last start at Kensington when 3 of 10 behind the smart Nags To Riches.
Look for him to be right up on the speed and he may be able to take control early, before racking and stacking them.
Given any peace out in front, he will be very hard to run down. J Parr = big tick.
Selburose
Some big names are involved here including Waller, McDonald and Gerry Harvey!
They should be motivated to win for the big owner, and Gerry would expect them to be winning if they want more of his horses in the stable.
She has gone very close at her past two starts and the step back to 1100m here should ensure she is very strong late.
Wild Ruler
Could take on champion sprinter Nature Strip, for the lead in this and may bluff him out of it.
He loves racing first-up (4:3-1-0) where he's never been worse than second, and will be primed for this in search of an Everest invite.
It appears plenty of trial watches like what they saw in his recent hit-out and expect him to run very well.
Zaaki
Potential superstar who resumes over what would normally be considered an unsuitable 1400m journey.
He must be looking very sharp in his work to warrant this attention in betting and he will be ultra-dynamic here first up.
Expect them to race in a forward position, before starting to apply pressure to the leaders early in the straight.
