We head north to Port Macquarie for Monday's best bets, as the boys tackle a diffcult 8-race card.
The track is currently rated a Heavy 8, with the rail out 4m the entire circuit.
At this set-up, on-pace runners will be at some advantage.
Best Bet from Luke Hovhanesian
Port Macquarie Race 1 #9 Topender $2.50
This 3YO filly is set to come of age stepping up to 1512m.
Her dad, Territories, was an international superstar, winning a Group 1 in France over 1600m.
Her mum was very talented, with strong bloodlines. She was set for a big career with Trainer James Cummings, before suffering an injury at her first start.
Topender has shown glimpses of his breeding talent with some impressive efforts over the shorter sprint journey.
Kris Lees has clearly been waiting for the right race and with fitness peaking, she has been set for this middle distance assignment.
At her first up run, she was only 1.5 lengths off New Republic and that galloper bolted in yesterday at Mudgee.
With apprentice Bailey Wheeler booked, she gets down to 54.5kg, the lowest weight she has run with.
Bailey will put her in a forward position and from there she will be almighty hard to catch when they swing for home.
Best Bet from Michael Gannon
Port Macquarie Race 5 #4 Whatyoulookingat $3.40
This speedy mare is building a nice strike rate, winning 4 from 15 and returns to the scene of her last start victory.
She's won 3 from 7 at the track, handles rain affected going and loves the 1000m journey.
She's drawn perfectly in barrier 1, gets the 2kg claim for gun apprentice Jasper Franklin and can lead them all the way.
This daughter of Wandjina has won up to 1100m on a Soft 6, so her stamina at the 1000m is of no concern. As long as she jumps well, she'll be marked urgent and should be too speedy for her rivals.
