Cup Day Crunches
AAPTagged: Horse Racing Tips
Punters are charging into Melbourne Cup Day markets early right around the country, with a number of mis-priced runners picked off.
Early in the card at Flemington, a Price/Kent 2YO has been heavily supported to get punters off to a flying start in Race 1.
Whilst at Randwick, an interesting runner drops back in distance and looks well suited. Given any form of tempo, he should be the last one standing
Flemington Tips
Water Bomber
Price/Kent 2YO colt who looked ultra-impressive winning his only trial at Moe.
The stable are flying and the money is typically an excellent guide of how their horses are going.
If another late market push occurred inside the final minute of betting, expect him to simply win.
Wil John
Quality stayer who will run all day long and has won his past 5 starts.
The last start win at Caulfield over 2400m was full of merit, after he was forced to race deep without cover throughout.
He has the tactical speed to roll along out in front and break their hearts, and appears a big chance to do that here. Yes
Groovy Kinda Love
Was truck-loaded ($2.50 into $2.10) at Ballarat last start, before braining them all with a strong finishing burst down the outside.
This is much harder up to stakes grade for the first time, however she showed enough to warrant respect at this level.
Leading rider Damian Lane sticks and must have a high-opinion to be staying aboard in a Listed race.
Lackeen
Has the white-hot combination of Godolphin/Damien Oliver at the moment, who have really hit the mark early in the carnival.
The stable are flying and the processes clearly work and are geared to be even more lethal at this time of year.
From gate 5, look for him to get run of the race favours and have every chance with the in-form rider to steer. Yes.
Randwick Tips
I Am Lethal
Was hard in the market ($2.50) on debut at Newcastle, when he was only run down late.
He can improve off the debut run and although well exposed, the stable do love a bet and any push can be worth following.
Expect them to press forward again here to race close to speed and prove very hard to run down.
Merlinite
Rock hard fit now after two runs at 2400m, and drops back to the 2000m where you would expect her to be one of the strongest late.
She will want the speed on, and could even be ridden more forward in a striking position to apply pressure herself.
If there is a good tempo expect her to simply run home all over the top of them late.
Six Again
Talented sprinting mare in search of the hat-trick of wins here, following the Warwick Farm and Newcastle successes.
Her SP profile is also strong, starting favourite at her past two starts when clearly highly regarded by the market in each.
She is likely to press forward and race close to speed, before giving a good kick inside the final 50m.
The Face
Was expected to win at Doomben last start when he jumped the $2.40 favourite, before it appeared as though not all was right.
He has since trialled which would suggest there was a slight issue last time that has now been addressed.
The profile does create interest and taking the time to trial and have him right for this race, does suggest they are serious. Watch betting very late.
