We'll be heading to Sha Tin on Establishment Day in Hong Kong, with 10 races scheduled on the turf “C” course.

Today's two feature events are the Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup in Race 6 and Hong Kong Reunification Cup in Race 7.

Aussie punters take note, Chad Schofield will miss the next two meetings as he is suffering from chickenpox.

Punters favourite 'Ian', formerly trained by John Thompson in Australia, will make his long-awaited debut in Race 10. This Toorak Toff gelding had pelvis injury last year but is now ready to race.

Sha Tin Race 2 Tip #11 One Step Ahead $4.60

One Step Ahead is now rated 24 and according to the retirement policies, horses rated 25 or below at the end of season will be forced to retire.

Therefore if the 5YO wants to continue racing in the next season, he needs to win today or at least fight out the finish.

The gelding is healthy and has placed twice over this course and distance this season.

He had 2 barrier trials in preparation for this race. At his most recent one on 18 June, he jumped well under Joao Moreira to run on well.

Joao will ride the horse again in this clash and he draws perfectly in gate 2, where he can breakthrough for a victory.

Sha Tin Race 9 Tip #2 Speedy Mouse $2.35

Speedy Mouse scored his first win in Hong Kong last start over this course and distance, showing a strong turn of foot to beat War Of Courage by 1.5 lengths.

After adding 8 marks to his rating, he will still race in Class 3 on Thursday and will no doubt be very competitive.

This race is a similar set-up to his last start, with Zac Purton taking the reigns against and a weak field.

Expect him to sit midfield after jumping from gate 8, before chasing hard to the line to make it back-to-back wins.
