We're off to Sydney's north-west on Thursday, as Hawkesbury hosts a solid eight race card which offers up plenty of value for punters.

The track is currently rated a Soft 5 and sunshine is forecast for the entire day.

The rail is out 3m from the 1100m - 450m and true for the remainder of the circuit, which should give all horses their chance.

From the stewards

The horse worth keeping an eye on from the steward's report is Yulong Code, running around in race 2.

Last start at Warwick Farm to round out his prep, there was a change of tactics to ride the colt further forward. However, he was slow to leave the barriers and as a result was forced to settle towards the rear of the field to avoid being trapped wide.

The rider stated that he travelled well in the middle stages of the race and when passing the 600m mark, he was able to improve his position towards the inside.

He was able to secure clear running passing the 350m mark and finished strongly into fourth.

From a better draw today, expect him to prove hard to beat first-up.

Hawkesbury Race 5 Tip #10 Conscript $4.00

The Time For War colt is back after a short break and looks set to continue on his winning ways here.

He went undefeated last preparation with impressive victories at both Bathurst and Dubbo, winning by 2 lengths and 3 lengths respectively.

There are queries over the quality of the opposition he faced in each of those two starts, but the authority in which he beat them was impressive.

He has had one trial leading in to this clash, where he went around with the Group 3 placed Kumasi which is a perfect lead-up to this.

Being from the Ryan stable, there is no doubt he will be wound up for this. He's a winner over 1100m on a Soft 5 and he drops 3kg from his last start win.

From barrier 3, expect Dolan to sit on-pace, before peeling off heels and kicking on well.
