Three horses in the money

The Group Two Run To The Rose is a key lead up race to the Group One, Golden Rose Stakes.

This year's Golden Rose will be run on the 29th September over 1400m at Rosehill Gardens, where the best quality three-year-old's in Australia will fight it out for a cool $1 million. 

Notable winners of the Run To The Rose include Pierro (2012), Denman (2009) and Eremein (2004).  

The early favourite for the 2019 Run To The Rose is the Team Hawkes trained Exceedance. The son of Exceed And Excel was dominant at his last start, defeating the highly touted Bivouac in the Group Three Sam Dominico Stakes by two-lengths. 

The Chris Waller trained Yes Yes Yes, was scratched from a heavy track a fortnight ago and arrives here first-up. The son of Rubrick has high hopes this Spring, nominated for the Golden Rose, Caulfield Guineas and the Cox Plate. If he is to be competitive in those races, he has to be running top three here. 

Another runner who is on the same path as Yes Yes Yes, is the Richard Litt trained Castelvecchio.

The winner of the Group One Champagne Stakes is set for a huge Spring with his final target the Cox Plate. Connections will be hoping to see a strong return to the track here, but there is no doubt he'll appreciate the step-up in distance and is one to follow throughout his preparation.
