21/9/19 Randwick tips and best bets

Best bets at Randwick from Michael Gannon
AAPA rain drenched Royal Randwick plays host to a fantastic day of racing this Saturday, with punters set to feast on five Group races.
The feature race of the day is the Group One George Main Stakes, where a field of 11 will fight it out over the famous Randwick Mile.
The track is currently rated a Heavy 9, with the rail in the true position. There are further showers forecast to arrive in Sydney on Thursday, before drying conditions prevail later in the week.
Under this track set-up, the best going is likely to be 3-4 lanes off the rail. On-pace runners who can find cover are set to hold an advantage.

Royal Randwick Race 5 Tip #4 Archedemus $19.00 each-way
The Group Three Bill Ritchie looks a wide-open affair, with three of the four more fancied runners finding an unsuitable heavy track.
Kiwi raider Avantage returns to our shores after a successful Autumn campaign and has come up equal-second favourite.
The Jamie Richards trained mare looks the best suited of the early favourites, but has a few obstacles to overcome.
The 1400m distance is at the very end of her range and although she has won on a heavy surface previously, both factors combined are likely to see her vulnerable late.
The Gwenda Markwell trained Achedemus ticks plenty of boxes here. She's proven on rain-affected tracks, is unbeaten second-up and has performed well at 1400m and beyond.
Drawn barrier seven, jockey Luke Currie can cruise across to lead or sit right on-pace and with little early speed engaged, it's likely the leaders will carve out moderate sectionals. This will allow the mare to kick strongly late.
The girl looks well suited on a testing Randwick surface, she strips fitter second-up and will be fighting out the finish.
Royal Randwick Race 4 Tip #5 Funstar $4.40
The Group Two Tea Rose Stakes sees rising star Libertini look to maintain her unbeaten record this prep.
The Anthony Cummings trained filly has come up the short-priced $1.90 favourite and is another runner who looks vulnerable stepping up to the 1400m on a heavy track.
Her first-up win over 1200m was impressive, before she just fell over the line to claim victory in the Group Two Furious Stakes.
The big risk is that she's never run beyond 1200m and is yet to be tested on a heavy track.
The Chris Waller trained Funstar has been marked second favourite and comes into this race with the most upside.
Her first-up run behind the talented Yao Dash was great, running within half a length of the winner who had an easy time of it in the lead.
This girl by Adelaide will relish the extra 100m and her one win on a heavy track is a big tick.
Drawn barrier seven and with moderate speed engaged, jockey James McDonald can take a forward position with cover and is likely to sit one-pair back off the leaders.
This filly looks a real talent. She'll prove awfully hard to beat here and should go on to bigger and better things this preparation.
