The Canterbury track is rated a Good 4, with the rail situated in the true position the entire circuit.

On-pace runners have an edge around this tight turning track and the rails is the place to be in the run.

Canterbury Race 3 Tip #4 Good Stock $7.50

This son of Tavistok has had one trial in readiness for his first career run and if it's anything to go off, he'll be more than competitive in this race.

Jumping on terms with the field, the Waterhouse/Bott trained galloper ran to the lead and held a wide-course throughout the trip.

With Tim Clark aboard, he came down the outside fence under his own steam to win in nice fashion. The runner-up was well ridden and they put a good gap on the third and fourth placed runners.

It's unlikely there were any stars in that trial, but the manner in which Good Stock performed suggests he has plenty of ability.

In a positive sign, jockey Tim Clark will stay on board the gelding instead of opting to ride stablemate Cock Match, who he also rode in a recent trial.

From barrier nine, expect Clark to sit just off the likely leader Cock Match.

Look for these two to dictate the pace of the race, before the talented Good Stock proves too good in the straight.

The Bendigo track is rated a Soft 5, with the rail out 9m the entire circuit.

With the rail in this position, back-markers may find it difficult to make up ground which will advantage on-pace runners.

Bendigo Race 1 Tip #11 Monetizing $5.00

This is a cracker of a maiden to start the day at Bendigo.

Most of these horses have shown talent at the jump outs, but this filly from the Brent Stanley yard was a stand-out.

At one of her earlier jump outs, she travelled better than St Edwards Crown. That runner went on to win at Flemington in June, before placing in the Listed Atlantic Jewel at The Valley last Saturday.

Following that effort Monetizing bolted in at another jump out, winning by 5 lengths and running a quicker time than the older well performed horses.

Stanley runners often improve when they get to the races, which suggests there is plenty of upside to this girl.

The booking of Craig Williams on debut is a huge push that she'll be running a big race.
