Punters hone in on a select few in betting

This week punters have identified a small select group of runners below, that appear to have gone up the wrong price initially with bookmakers. The selections feature an exciting Group 1 favourite who has been ultra impressive in recent outings and should be very hard to beat.

With Spring racing heating up there looks to be plenty of opportunity to follow the sharp money and capitalise with the below selections.

Skidman

Arrives from Victoria with strong provincial form and an even stronger SP profile, having been backed off the map in betting at his past two starts.

The Ciaron Maher stable have found Corey Brown to ride and he usually takes his pick of the good ones. No doubt they would not have travelled here unless he is very good and he will no doubt be competitive from a good draw.

Tarka

Surprised a few good judges last start when winning the Stan Fox here over 1500m. That run suggested he will simply eat up the 1800m this week and from gate one will have the most economical run.

Slight concern the small field may go too slow however with any tempo at all he is the one to beat. Money looks spot on.

Graff

Was a huge run when beaten in the Run To The Rose here last time out, where caught wide throughout.

He lost no admirers that day and from the gun draw in gate 4 this week can easily atone. With other leading hopes drawn wider, he will race closer to speed and prove very hard to beat.

Has been backed off the map and should be winning.

Extra Brut

Weir and Allen combine and that alone is a massive tick, as Weir has been known to reward Allen on occasion with a plumb ride.

This colt toughed it out well last start at Sandown when prevailing in the later stages to chalk up the maiden win. It will be harder here but the money speaks a thousand languages and it’s telling us he is ready to fire again. Yes.

Lucky For All

Has a lethal turn of foot on his day and the report this week indicates he is the Weir stables best hope nationwide.

He made a sound return at Moonee Valley when running 3 of 15 and the extra 200m in distance here will suit. Is one that likes to get back and run home over the top and expect there to be enough speed engaged to allow him to do so here. Will swamp them all late.

Fine Dane

Was heavily backed at Moe on debut and won accordingly after sitting wide. That is the sign of a very good one and whilst this is a significant step up in grade, he could still have them covered.

Love it when a family combination combine with the “no interest like self interest” mantra in play and we get that here with the Moloneys. Expect further market support and will go very close.

Home Of The Brave

Could not have been more impressive at his last two races including the latest where he led and gave nothing else a chance against plenty of smart types in the Theo Marks.

With the rail out 9m he should receive on-pace favours, provided they don’t attack him and all want to be up there due to a perceived bias.

Looks something very special and they are still talking Everest in some circles. Could just blow them away.
