Muswellbrook hosts a solid eight race card on Friday, with plenty of good racing to get excited about.

The track is currently rated a Heavy 8 and with sunshine forecast for the upper Hunter Region of NSW, punters should expect a Soft track.

The rail is out 3m position from the 1000m to 300m mark, where the cutaway applies. This set-up generally favours those in the front half of the field.

From the stewards

Toe Tapper in Race 2 is the one that stands out for me in the steward's report.

The Star Witness mare was slow to begin last start at Wyong, before being checked when crowded.

She proceeded to race wide without cover throughout the event and was shuffled out further late in the piece when she was hampered.

Back to country grade here, she gets a chance to redeem herself and should be very competitive.

Jockey to follow

Aaron Bullock is the standout jockey riding at Muswellbrook today.

In the past 12 months, Bullock has ridden here 44 times for 14 wins at a 32% strike rate.

The jockey has 3 rides today, with his best chance coming in race 7 on Star Raider.

I've identified 3-races on today's card that represent good betting opportunities. Below is my best bet on the card and my quaddie numbers.

Muswellbrook Race 7 Tip #4 Emilette $3.20

The Epaulette mare will look to improve on her last start placing here at this track.

In that run, she looked to have a nice time of it before going wide on the turn. The winner of the race took the inside going and streaked away nicely.

Emilette performed well in what looked a decent Class 1 event.

She gets a chance to go one better second-up from the ideal draw, in a race with very little speed.

Greg Ryan sticks which is a positive, and she meets a far less competitive field than she encountered last start.

From the draw, look for Ryan to easily lead and dictate the race. She will make her own luck in front and if she is good enough, she wins.
