24/8/19 Best bets for Mooney Valley Racing

Moonee Valley preview and best bets
AAPMoonee Valley is currently rated a Soft 5, with the rail out 4m the entire circuit.
This track set-up tends to favour on-pace runners, however punters should expect it to even out after the first few races.
There is up to 4mm of rain forecast on Saturday in Melbourne, so it will pay to keep one eye on the radar before betting.
Below are three of my top selections, however if you'd like to access all my selections for Saturday's meet you can get them here.
Moonee Valley Race 5
Plenty of speed here, with Ashlor to keep Assertive Approach honest which will allow Oak Door to sit just behind the pair.
Bons Away had a nice recent trial and does run time. He should get a nice sit behind the leaders and be ready to pounce when the whips are cracking.
He has a good record at the distance and gets the in-form Linda Meech to ride. Represents great value in a two-horse race.
Assertive Approach will look the winner at some stage, but is likely to find one better once again. The rise in weight and class should prove too much and see her run down in the home straight.
Oak Door was super impressive last start beating Jungle Edge in Group 3 company. Drops in grade, remains at 58.5kg and has won at The Valley.
Queen Annabel is flying, has won at the track and distance and will add some value to the wider exotics.
Mark's Race 5 Tips
1st Bons Away $3.20
2nd Assertive Approach
3rd Oak Door
4th Queen Annabel
Moonee Valley Race 8
Tavisun will set the speed here and is likely dictate terms in front.
Usain Bowler jumps from barrier nine and will be forced to race off-the-speed, likely to be stuck in and amongst runners.
Favourite Terbium has drawn barrier 12 and should be able to sit two or three wide with cover. This will allow him to keep Usain Bowler in a pocket for most of the race.
With the pace up front, look for Tavirun to take off from the 200m mark giving Terbium something to chase.
Expect Terbium to rise to the challenge in style by unleashing his great turn of foot to fly late for a good first-up win.
Tavisan now third-up has the race fitness to hold on to second place, with the fast finishing Usain Bowler to be hot on his heels in third place.
Of the rest, Highland Beat showed enough last start to suggest he can finish in the top four.
Mark's Race 8 Tips
1st Teribium $2.80
2nd Tavisan
3rd Usain Bowler
4th Highland Beat
Moonee Valley Race 9
There will be plenty of speed here with Masculino, Inverloch and Tavirun all moving forward.
Charossa drops 4.5kgs on his winning effort last start at Flemington. Jumping from barrier 8, the gelding has the ability to cross and sit just off the leaders. From there he will be perfectly positioned to peel away in the straight and claim victory over the final 100m.
Tavirun drops back in distance off a good win over 2400m, his third win on the trot and the Valley has suited him in the past.
Masculino has been up for an eternity, but rarely runs a poor race. He drops 2.5kg and performs well at The Valley.
Inverloch has won two straight and ran them off their feet last start. He's likely to find this harder, but can hang on for fourth spot.
Mark's Race 9 Tips
1st Charossa $6.00
2nd Tavirun
3rd Masculino
4th Inverloch
Best Bet – Race 9 Charossa
Quaddie – 2,3,6,7 / 1,2,3 / 8,9,11/ 3,6,12,13
