The Kensington track plays host to a nine-race card on Saturday, with the Spring Preview Handicap headlining the action.

The track is currently rated a Good 4, with the rail in the true position.

Kensington often suits runners who can sit on-pace and build the revs on turning for home. Expect it to play no different this week.

Kensington Race 1 Tip #6 Schappose $9.00

His first-up run at Scone off a 147-day spell was full of merit. He was outbobbed on the line by Attila in that race, and that runner has gone on to win twice.

He then went one better in his second-up performance at Tamworth over 1200m, comfortably winning by 1.2 lengths. The most impressive part of that run was his final 200m, which suggests the step up to 1300m here is a positive.

Drawn well in barrier five for gun apprentice Robbie Dolan, expect the son of High Chaparral to sit two pairs back with cover. From that position, he'll be well poised to strike.

He'll strip much fitter from his second-up run and after the claim for Dolan, he'll be well in at the weights carrying only 54.5kg.

The $9 fixed odds quote represents great each-way value for this ultra-consistent galloper.

Kensington Race 7 Tip #9 Cradle Mountain $10.00

Went missing last start, with a post-race vet examination reporting he was slow to recover.

Stewards then sent him back to the trials where he found his mojo again.

Jumping well at Warwick Farm, he went straight to the front and looked strong to the line. He cruised past the post with a gap of 2.8 lengths back to Group One winner Pierata.

From barrier two here, expect Jason Collet to head forward and break his rivals' hearts with dominant front running display.

Kensington Race 8 Tip #1 Thy Kingdom Come $3.70

This galloper from the John Thompson yard had genuine excuses last week and was brave in defeat.

Sitting three wide the run, the big weight of 60kg eventually took its toll.

Drawn barrier one here and with gun jockey James McDonald booked to ride, punters can expect the gelding to have an easier run this time around.

Expect McDonald to sit on the rail trailing the leader's heels in the run.

With a decent tempo up front, the gaps will appear and McDonald will have his mount ready to pounce.

He's proven at Kensington with one win at the track & distance and he looks very hard to beat here.
