After a winter spell, Deane Lester was back with a bang last Saturday, reminding punters why he's one of the best in the game.
His Saturday Caulfield tips returned a 53% POT with equal staking.
What a cracking first-up performance.
If you would like to purchase Lester's Flemington tips for this weekend, you can do that here.
Read on to see which horses reeled in the cash for followers of the Melbourne guru last week.
Deane Lester's horse racing tips review 13th July 2019 (Caulfield):
Race 1: #1 Can't Be Done (15 units) and #7 Avon River (5 units)
Deane was oh so close to getting his followers off to the perfect start.
Can't Be Done ran a great race, but fell just short in second place.
Deane's second selection also ran solidly, finishing fourth.
Race 3: #11 Special Diva (5 units) and #15 Cryptic Jewel (25 units- best bet)
This result shows the value of always having a "saver" bet.
Deane's best bet just didn't have enough room to get home for the win.
But it was Special Diva, the roughie, who won comfortably at the great odds of $12.20.
Deane has a knack of finding a good-priced winner, and this was just another example of it.
Race 4: #1 Smart Elissim (10 units) and #8 Santelmo Fuego (10 units)
It was more bad luck here, with Smart Elissim finishing agonizingly close in second.
Santelmo Fuego ran 4th in what was another 2nd and 4th result for Deane.
Race 6: #1 Junipal (20 units)
Junipal was yet another of Deane selections that found a place.
This talented colt dead-heated for third in a race that was won by Tavirun.
With 60kg to carry, it looked to be the big weight that cost Junipal in the end.
Race 8: #1 Jungle Edge (10 units)
Can you believe it? Second place once again.
Of all of Deane's seconds on Saturday, this was the closest, with Jungle Edge finishing just 0.2 lengths behind the winner Oak Door.
This veteran sprinter was paying a decent $1.80 for the place for those who bet each way.
