Canterbury plays host to a six-race card on Wednesday, where the track is rated a Heavy 9 with some showers predicted in Sydney.

At this set-up, participants should expect rails in the run to be an advantage with the best going in the straight 6-8m off the rail.

Canterbury Race 6 Tip #12 Van Giz $3.50

This filly from the Bjorn Baker yard was impressive in running third behind Mo's Crown and Atlantic King last start.

That run was over the Rosehill 1200m on a Heavy 8 and she is set to face a similar set-up here.

From barrier 2, expect Tim Clark to ride positively from the gates and sit on the leader's back behind Lilemor.

With the gun run along the fence, Clark can push through as they fan on the home turn to find the best going down the middle of the straight.

This girl has been a model of consistency all prep and looks set to reward connections with a win today.

Canterbury Race 3 Tip #1 Our Gravano $5.50

The Roc De Cambes gelding has found a nice race in town and looks set to add another victory to his CV here.

The Lees trained galloper ran home nicely behind Elaborate and She's So Savvy at this distance last start.

That form has held up well, with both those runners coming to town and finishing in the money.

At his last start, Our Gravano was in the inferior ground along the rail in the straight and would have finished closer if he'd found the middle of the track.

Drawn the outside barrier, look for him to drop behind the field and do no work in the run.

James McDonald takes the ride, which adds confidence and you can expect this bloke to relish the rain affected surface.

He'll enter the fight as they enter the straight and fly home late.
