7/6/19 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets Review

How did our resident tipsters fare?
Lays of the Day review
This week's two lays were based on an overreaction in the market following a "boom" run in a Stakes or Group level race.
The reasoning made perfect sense from James Beeson, who once again had success with one of his two lays.
His first lay last Saturday was the well-fancied $2.60 Viridine in Doomben Race 4.
And this was spot on the mark, with Viridne not even managing to run a place.
Beeson noted that the speed map didn't suit, and this proved to be the case.
Viridine never looked happy in the run.
Beeson's second lay was Kenedna in Doomben Race 9.
He was less confident about this tip, conceding that Kenedna has bags of talent and would get a soft run from barrier three.
This talent certainly came to the fore, with Kenedna streaking away for a strong win.
Early Market Movers Review
This popular article has been consistantly steering punters in the right direction this year.
But in a shock result, the smart money was well off the mark last Saturday in a rare off day for the early market movers.
Just one of the four tips from both Doomben and Caulfield was able to get the win.
Plague Stone was absolutely crunched when markets opened, firming by a whopping 18.25% into $2.
This price came in another point on race day, and Plague Stone showed why.
Best Bets for Saturday races review
This is the article where we collect the best bets for Saturday racing from three of our leading tipsters.
And punters who backed these best bets would've been cheering, because they resulted in a profit.
While a few tips were wayward, others were right on the money.
Find out which ones they were below.
Free racing tip from Michael Gannon
Rosehill Race 3: #14 River Bird
Gannon suggested an each-way bet on this value runner in Sydney.
The Epaulette filly came in with some ominous form, suggesting she was ready to explode.
The punters thought so too, with River Bird getting crunched all the way in from $10 to $5.50.
But all this promising filly could manage was an 8th place finish.
Free Racing Tips from Ben Beare
Kembla Grange Race 6: #1 Fairy Me Home
Ben Beare has been tipping up a storm of late.
This selection looked like a good one in the home straight, only for Fairy Me Home to finish just out of the placings in fourth.
Rosehill Race 5: #9 Releem in Ruby
Beare bounced back with a belter of a tip at Rosehill.
He tipped this Pierro filly at $2.50 odds, so credit to you if you also got this price.
That's because she firmed into even money, and got the win.
Free Racing Tips from Matt Buckland
Caulfield Race 3: #7 Asgard Massif
This was a cracking Saturday racing tip from Buckland.
Asgard Massif was suited down to the ground by the Caulfield track.
Buckland said that he would shoot out to an early lead and would take some catching, especially after a 9kg weight drop.
And that's exactly what happened, as this John Sadler-trained gelding made every post a winner.
Rosehill Race 9: #14 Spiritual Pursuit
This filly had been "trialling the house down" according to Buckland.
She was oh so close to bringing that form to race day, just going down by half a length.
You'd certainly stick with her after that run.
