7/6/19 Horse Racing Tips & Best Bets: David Gately review

How Gator got on
With the racing landscape shifted to Brisbane in recent weeks, punters have been on the hunt for tipsters who know where to look in the Sunshine state.
It's rare that the Melbourne and Sydney specialists spread their wings north, however David Gately is an exception.
The respected form analyst has been answering the call from punters over the past month, burying himself in form to produce racing tips for the Brisbane Racing Carnival.
And didn't that pay dividends for punters who followed his tips at Doomben on Saturday.
The charismatic tipster found 4 winners from his 9 selections, delivering punters a handy 66% POT. A cracking effort considering his hefty workload.

David Gately's horse racing tips review at Doomben 1st June 2019
Race 1: #7 Shadow Hero
Gately tipped Shadow Hero at $6.20 in Doomben Race 1.
It was the perfect start to the day for punters, with Blake Shinn riding this gelding to victory.
What's more is that it firmed all the way in to $3.60.
Race 2: #3 Diamond Thunder
Gator went back-to-back, also tipping the winner in Race 2.
When he placed his tips, this horse was as long as $11.90.
And once again, it firmed right in.
In a huge go, Diamond Thunder ended up starting at 5/1.
Race 3: #1 Meet Mr Taylor
Gator certainly knows how to get on a roll!
He made it three from three, when the odds-on favourite Meet Mr Taylor won comfortably.
Race 4: #1 Viridine
This is where Gator's streak ended.
Viridine never looked comfortable in the run, but still only finished a length behind the winner.
Definitely one to give another chance.
Race 5: #9 Plague Stone
Gately hopped straight back into the winner's circle when Plague Stone proved too good for his rivals.
While he needed the judge to separate him from long-shot Tycoon Ace, the odds-on fav just got the bob-in.
Race 6: #4 Intuition
The Godolphin runner was okay without setting the world alight.
He finished a close 5th.
Race 7: #9 Prophet's Thumb
Another horse that didn't quite live up to expectations.
Prophet's Thumb finished three lengths back in 5th.
Race 8: #2 Aliferous
In the Queensland Oaks, Gator went with Aliferous, citing her decent run behind Verry Elleegant as a strong enough form line.
Aliferous got out of the pack late and charged at the line.
However, the race wasn't quite long enough for her, with Aliferous finishing 5th.
Three bolters filled out the placings in what was a horror race for punters.
Race 9: #8 Shillelagh
The Chris Waller-trained mare was a touch disappointing.
She didn't quite get the trip, and finished four lengths back in 5th.
Incredibly, this was the fourth consecutive 5th-placed finish for Gator's Doomben tips.
You'd get pretty big odds on that.
