Canterbury Race 3 Tip #11 Milunka $3.20

This All Too Hard filly broke her maiden in nice fashion last start, when she overcame trouble to win by a length over the 1550m at Canterbury.

Her sectionals from that race suggest that she handled the rise in distance well and her racing pattern will enable her to handle the step up to 1900m here.

The 1.5kg claim for apprentice Sam Weatherly is a plus, meaning she will only carry 54.5kg.

From the perfect draw in barrier five, Weatherly can make use of the light weight and hold a forward position in the run.

Look for him to sit behind the nominated leaders to receive a dream trip.

She looks like a galloper with plenty of upside, is well in with the claim and looks set to make it two wins on-the-trot.

Canterbury Race 5 Tip #4 Aim for Perfection $2.60

This filly is aiming for three wins in-a-row and has found the perfect race to do so.

Her two wins to date have been solid, with her last start victory over the Newcastle 1200m the most impressive. On that occasion, she led all the way against some older mares on a Soft 6.

Coming off those two strong wins, she carries only 57kg here after the 2kg claim for the in-from apprentice Robbie Dolan.

From barrier four, look for Dolan to push forward to sit behind the leaders, before peeling wide on the turn and proving too strong late.

Sandown Hillside Race 1 Tip #9 Ms Minnelli $26 each way

This two-year-old showed plenty in a recent Caulfield jump-out.

She left the barriers with the field, but the jockey quickly applied the brakes and kept her under a good hold for the entire trip.

In that same jump out was Proper Rouge, a two-year-old colt who has received big wraps from his stable. He justified the hype by narrowly missing on debut after having plenty of excuses.

To my eye, Ms Minelli could have gone past Proper Rouge at any time in that jump out, which means she has plenty of upside.

Don't be put off by the filly's 5 of 6 finish in her only public trial at Pakenham. There was plenty of promise in that run and the $26 on offer here is too hard to ignore.
