Ipswich and Rosehill betting plunges

Ipswich Cup day sees punters very active in early betting markets, with a number of professional moves identified below.

Some runners appear to have significant speed map favours, whilst one will enjoy a huge drop down in grade.

The Rosehill card in Sydney has also been attacked and includes plenty of first-up runners attracting support from the smart money punters.

As always, watch for a further move in betting close to jump to add extreme confidence.

Ipswich

Ipswich Tips

Karaja

Is from the shrewd Mathew Dunn yard, who should always be respected when the money comes.

She won impressively at Ballina on debut and the stable must be ultra confident to be entering her into a Saturday class race first-up.

From gate 6, trust Robbie Fradd to find a position midfield with cover before storming home over the top. Yes.

Traumatised

Has been racing well recently, with close up finishes at his past few in good grade.

Gets the gun run here from an inside draw (gate 2) and the predicted fast tempo should play right into his hands.

He will suck up in behind the entire trip and have plenty in the tank in the final stages.

The dream run in transit should see him winning.

Boomtown Lass

Was heavily backed towards the end of his last preparation as the fitness increased.

It appears that he takes time to come to hand and the market support here suggests he's now ready.

He loves the Ipswich track (4:1-2-0), which is a very significant factor considering many simply do not handle the tight home turn.

From gate 6, the rider can position midfield and one off before attaining a favourable slingshot passage on entering the straight.

Chapter N Verse

Kicked off this campaign in fine style when very dominant winning at Eagle Farm.

Since then, connections decided to target a Stradbroke start and ran him in the key lead-up sprints in an attempt to gain entry, which proved unsuccessful.

Although he disappointed at the higher level, this is a massive step down in grade and he could easily bounce straight back to winning form.

Races well back in the field and will need the speed to be clapped on up front. However, if he gets it he'll mow these down with ease. Yes.

Rosehill

Rosehill Tips

Rotator

Just missed first up when nosed out at this track and distance.

She was one of the leading chances in betting that day and I suspect that with the experience, she can only improve.

Draws well again in barrier 3 and should get a similar run just in behind the speed, before switching across heels to get home hard late.

The betting screams yes!

Sir Bacchus

Receives important weight relief (1.5kg) with Sam Weatherly’s claim and does prove very effective when racing first up (7:2-1-1).

He will get well back in the small field, however is a genuine hope if they attack each other up front.

Still looks good value in betting and if he gets a warp speed tempo, can unleash hell from the rear. Yes.

Sweet Victory

This quality mare loves it second up (3:1-1-1), where she's never out of the money.

Trainer Mark Newnham is a gun on a steep upward trajectory and certainly knows how to place them to advantage.

She was good first up at Randwick, after finishing a close up 4 of 15 over the unsuitably short 1200m.

Now steps up sharply to 1500m and could just blow them away.

Sylvia’s Mother

Carried a huge boom last preparation and certainly lived up to it when winning 3 of 4.

She arrives first up and does have a decent fresh record (2:1-0-1).

Expect team Hawkes to have her very forward in condition and they'll be looking to pull off a betting sting here.

Look for Tommy Berry to hunt up and find the one out and one back position, before cruising home over the top.

Could start shorter.
