This Saturday Royal Randwick plays host to a strong nine-race card, with deep fields and wide-open clashes the theme of the day.
With 30mm of rain forecast for the remainder of the week in Sydney, the track looks likely to start in the Heavy range.
With the rail out 6m the entire circuit, punters should expect the track to chop out late. In this scenario jockeys will look for the outside rail as the day progresses.

Royal Randwick Race 5 Tip #5 Southern Lad $2.60
This Ocean Park gelding impressed behind Irish Songs on a Heavy 9 at Wagga last start and gets conditions to suit in this race.
His wet track record of 6:3-2-0 will hold him in good stead for the predicted rain affected surface.
He drops 2kg from his last start and should be well suited by a quick tempo over the 1100m here.
From barrier 9, expect star jockey James McDonald to restrain him towards the rear for cover. With speed drawn inside, he'll get a nice run in transit which will give him every opportunity to peel wide for the last crack at them.
The booking of J Mac is a strong indication the horse is flying and with conditions to suit, he will be closing hard.
Royal Randwick Race 6 Tip #10 Miss Einstein $4.20
The Bjorn Baker trained mare is a genuine swimmer and the more rain we get the shorter she will start.
At her only Heavy track start she won by a huge 6.8-lengths, defeating Exotic Ruby and Got Your Six in a BM70. There have been 5 subsequent winners from that race.
Her two runs this prep have been full of merit and the step up to 1500m looks ideal third-up.
In her last run over 1400m, she loomed as the winner before being chopped out of the race by the leading pair, who couldn't hold their line in the straight.
From barrier 8 with plenty of speed engaged, look for jockey Jason Collett to ride patiently. He'll then be able to peel wide and fly down the outside late.
