Pro Punters follow the Sun

 AAP

We were in the black again last week, with our three winners from eight selections delivering followers 22% profit on turnover based on the prices on offer at the time of publication.

This week, pro punters have turned their attention to the Queensland winter carnival, where a number of runners have been singled out for serious attention in betting.

Away from the sunshine state, we have also identified a number of key market movers at Flemington.

Flemington

Flemington Tips

Maqsad

Ran well at Listed level in Adelaide last start, to place 2 of 11 in the Dequetteville Stakes.

Looks a genuine on-pace type and has drawn ideally in gate 3.

She'll be well positioned to speed through and lead again, taking the ideal path down the middle section of the track.

She only needs to settle and have some cheap sectionals out in front to be winning this. Yes.

Call It A Day

Is a very interesting move in betting and I suspect the pro punters are focusing on what appears to be a dream speed map.

He will hunt up along the inside and either control it from out in front or receive the perfect trail just in behind the leading pair.

The Wez Hunter stable do enjoy a bet and rarely miss when they identify one. Should simply win.

Grinzinger Star

The Danny O’Brien yard are flying at the moment and are another big betting stable who can pull off a plunge.

They arrive with this runner who has won his past two at Caulfield and drops back again to 3yo only grade, after beating the older horses last time out.

Looks ideally placed and can bring up the hat-trick here.

Lady Pluck

Has won her past three starts after being heavily backed at each, suggesting she is very smart.

This is another step-up against a good quality field, however the support is there to indicate she is up to it.

Would love to see one further push in betting as we approach start time, to create extreme confidence.

Gold Coast

Gold Coast Tips

Accession

Is a gun 2yo who arrives in Queensland with ultra impressive Sydney form, including the last start mid-field finish in the Skyline.

He is first-up after a nine week break and has been readied for this with a solid trial hitout at Canterbury where he brained them.

James McDonald is a key booking as he usually takes his pick. Looks a great bet.

Pinup Miss

Is lightly raced and progressing well.

Love the SP profile of this filly, who has been heavily supported in betting at her past two.

She must be showing Gai and Adrian plenty at home and came out last start as a $1.30 favourite to record a dominant win at Hawkesbury.

Only needs to hold that form to be winning this with ease.

Spurcraft

Has been smashed in betting and appears to get the dream run from gate 1, where he can hunt up to hold them all out.

They will fly here over the 900m scamper, with the inside ally worth its weight in gold.

I suspect this is why the pro punters have come hard for him and with the natural tactical speed he possesses, he should be kicking for a long way.

Freddie Fox Trot

Was good behind potential superstar Chapter N Verse last time out at Eagle Farm, when 2 of 15 in Class 6 grade.

That form looks enormous and although this is a step up to Listed grade, he did run well at this level two starts back (3 of 12).

He can lead here from the good draw (gate 5) and should be winning. Yes.
