Deane Lester's horse racing tips review 18 May 2019 (Flemington):
Race 1: #4 Fabulanski (5 units) and #2 Independent Road (5 units)
Lester got off to a winning start, with Independent Road triumphing at the juicy odds of $6.
Lester tipped the young gelding when it was at $7.40, so those who got on early would've found the win extra-special.
Race 5: #9 Begood Toya Mother (25 units) - Best Bet
Lester was ultra-confident that this favourite would record his forth win on the bounce, making it his best bet.
He said in his comments that it only needs to hold its form to win.
And the gelding didn't let him or punters down, replicating his dominant form to date, and winning by a length.
Race 7: #2 Phoneme (5 units) and #15 Made Me Shiver (20 units)
Lester punters were riding on a high coming into Race 7.
However, it came a little unstuck, with both of Lester's selections finishing a fair way behind the winner, which was the Matt Cumani-trained Declares War.
This just proves that he's human after all.
Race 9: #3 Pacodali (20 units) and #6 Second Bullet (10 units)
Both of Lester's final two selections ran a good race, finishing less than a length behind the winner Mantastic.
But unfortunately, this wasn't enough to make the placings.
However, Lester did add the caveat that track conditions were crucial before betting on his top choice.
Perhaps this would've swayed punters away from Pacodali, who was drawn on the rails.
