11/5/19 Horse racing tips from early market moves

Local horse stings
Stakes racing moves to both Scone and Doomben this week, where a number of local horses can often be supported heavily in betting to get the cash.
The money trail in betting can be a stronger guide at these venues, where trainers often wait to set-up horses specifically for these events (in particular at Scone).
As always look for a further push in betting markets close to jump, where a significant move late in proceedings will add extreme confidence.
Scone tips from early market moves
Military Zone
Won the Hawkesbury Guineas at his latest outing and is looking to add another satellite Guineas to the resume here at Scone.
This field lacks depth and the rider can be positive from the wide draw (gate 9) to take up a position mid-field with cover.
From there it should be a simple case of peeling midway down the straight to run home hard over the top. Yes.
High Opinion
Was one of the biggest tips all year to win the Wagga Cup at his latest start, when he travelled wide throughout the race and was just nutted on the line by a smart one in Abdon.
The big weight here (62kg) is offset by the 2kg apprentice claim which he should handle.
Was expected to win last time out and the pro punters are likely to come again closer to jump. Could start shorter.
Libertini
Started short in the market ($1.65) at Randwick last start when braining a moderate field of 2yo fillies.
This is a step-up in grade from that race. She did place in Group 3 level on debut and looks to have recaptured that form with an easy kill last start.
Expect her to find a position midfield before unleashing hell on the leaders inside the final 200m. Yes.
Trekking
Is a high quality galloper who Godolphin have a huge opinion of. They love supporting the local Scone meeting and take great pleasure in winning stakes races on this day.
They are sure to have the right horse to win here and given any luck in running, he will be racing away with it.
Watch for another push in betting close to start time, for extreme confidence.
Doomben tips from early market moves
Mishani Electra
Is a decent go in betting for a horse that should receive significant speed map favours from a luxury draw in gate 1.
She was good at Doomben last start in similar grade when finishing a close-up 3 of 8 after she was just run down late.
Gets the soft lead here in what only appears to be a moderately run affair, and can be kicking for a long way. Can hold on to win this time.
Racecourse Road
Shoots for a hat-trick in this after chalking up dominant wins at his past two in weaker grade.
The strong early support in betting would suggest he is right up to stakes grade and the historical SP profile (started short at his past few) also indicates he can take the next step.
He loves to lead and dictate the race and gets the chance to do that from a mid draw (gate 6) with the other speed horses drawn to his outside.
If left alone in front, simply wins. Yes.
Jagged Edge
Arrives unbeaten after 2 starts where on both occasions he did not get things his own way. He sat outside the leaders two starts back and then travelled wide at his latest outing.
This all points to a very smart horse, and given a more economical run, he should be fighting out the finish in this higher grade.
Rider James Orman is a gun and will give the gelding every hope in running from the ideal draw in gate 2.
Could be very special.
The Candy Man
Just keeps on winning and this will be 6 straight if successful on Saturday.
Although this is the first try in Group 3 grade, he certainly deserves to be tested at this level and should acquit himself well.
They draw out a touch in gate 11 however over the 2000m and at this late stage in the day, it should be no significant disadvantage to race wider.
The market suggests he can make a big impression for his first try at Group level.
