The Doomben 10,000 is one of the feature races of the Brisbane Winter Carnival.
Past winners of this Group One include English, Redzel, Music Magnate and Boban.
The 2019 edition sees two of Australia's top line gallopers go head-to-head.
Galaxy Stakes winner Nature Strip will aim to hold off the challenge of perennial bridesmaid Osbourne Bulls, who is desperate to break a streak of four consecutive seconds in Group One company.
Doomben Track Traits
The Doomben surface is currently rated a Good 4, with the rail in the true position.
Jumping from the 1200m at this track, runners have 300m to find a position before the first of two sweeping turns.
This set-up tends to favour horses who have drawn the inside barriers, allowing them to be well positioned for an economical run.
Racing Market Movers
The smart money has arrived for the Chris Waller trained Nature Strip, backed from $2.80 into $1.95. White Moss has also seen some support, into $19 from $26 openers.
Second-favourite Osborne Bulls is on the drift, out to $3.30 from $3.00.
Key Runners
#1 Osborne Bulls $3.00 > $3.30
This talented galloper is arguably the best horse in Australia yet to win a Group One, but that can all change come Saturday afternoon.
A runner-up in Group One events the Lighning Stakes, Newmarket Handicap, TJ Smith and All Aged Stakes, the Godolphin gelding now gets the conditions to suit, drawing perfectly in barrier four with plenty of speed engaged.
With the blinkers applied for the first-time, expect Kerrin McEvoy to utilise the good draw and sit just beyond mid-field with cover.
From there, he'll be perfectly positioned to strike off a cracking pace.
As the leaders are getting leg weary, he'll be flying over the top.
#2 Nature Strip $2.80 > $1.95
The fastest horse in the race and he has been backed as if unbeatable.
His win in The Galaxy on a Heavy 8 over 1100m was solid. On that occasion he narrowly defeated Pierata, who franked that form-line by going on to win the Group One All Aged Stakes.
Stepping out to the 1200m is a huge concern and he'll have plenty of work to do from the wide barrier.
With plenty of early speed engaged, it's likely he'll have to burn the candle at both ends which will leave him exposed late.
At the $1.95 fixed odds he looks unders and given the work he'll have to do from the wide barrier, he can't go on top.

#5 Easy Eddie $17.00
Ran a nice third behind Nature Strip in The Galaxy. He then ran fairly in the Group Three Hall Mark, finishing 0.8-lengths off Trekking after spending most of his time three-wide.
Drawn barrier nine with plenty of speed on, he'll need plenty of luck not to be caught three or four-wide.
Looks well exposed at Group One level in a big field and is unlikely to be fighting out the finish.
#7 Tactical Advantage $18.00
Found one better in the Listed Hawkesbury Rush and looks to be well below Group One level.
With a hot-speed predicted here, his racing pattern suits and he will be making up good ground late.
It will surprise to see him run in the top-five however.
#11 Champagne Cuddles $11.00
The clear third-pick, who has been competitive when running fourth in both the Group One TJ Smith and All Aged Stakes.
From the wide draw, you'd expect her to be ridden mid-field, in the running line and poised to strike on turning for home.
If Osborne Bulls gets held up at any stage, she'll be the one jumping out of the pack to chase down Nature Strip.
#12 White Moss $18.00
An honest mare who has produced two strong wins in Group Two company this prep.
Drawn perfectly in barrier one, she'll be able to sit two pairs back on the rail to get the soft run in transit.
However, with plenty of speed on she could meet a few dead ends as runners fall back in her lap.
Looks a level below the top-three, but with even breaks she'll be finishing on their heels.
