There will be 9 races held on the Happy Valley "B" course on Wednesday night.

The weather is fine in Hong Kong and the turf condition will be great for the horses.

The B course is quite fair, so punters need to consider doing their form based on the handicapping system.

Joao Moreira has a huge advantage in the jockey premiership, but Zac Purton will be the favourite in the jockey challenge tonight given he has picked up several in-form horses.

The in-form hoop will be on board Spontaneous, Fast Pace and Charity Fun, who all have strong chances.

Happy Valley Race 4 #1 Harrier Jet $4.60

Harrier Jet scored early in the season under Zac Purton in Class 4 grade.

He then went to Class 3 level and even though he was fit, he struggled to compete at that level and has since returned to Class 4.

He switched to the dirt track last time out in what was his second career run on that surface, and he managed to chase well to be defeated by only 1.75 lengths.

The 9YO gelding will partner with Zac Purton, who has a good relationship with the horse.

Harrier Jet is the one to beat in this race.

 

Happy Valley Race 8 #8 Smoothies $6.00

Smoothies has raced 16 times in Hong Kong, but has only managed to capture one victory which came over 1400m at Sha Tin.

He is typically a consistent front-runner, however in his last couple of runs he has settled midfield and has shown dash in the last 500m of each race.

His run was huge over this track and distance last start, when he was just caught by Right Honourable at the post.

Expect Smoothies to perform better this time out and it presents a good chance for this former Queenslander to shine.
