We're back at Sha Tin on Sunday, for a competitive 11 race card held on the turf “C” course.
Fine conditions are forecast for Hong Kong and the going will be Good to Firm.
The first Griffin race of the season will take place today, with a field of 10 set to battle it out over 1000m.
Most of these runners are precocious, including Tony Millard’s Super Kingdom and Compulsory. Chiu Chow Warrior and Cheval Valiant’s barrier trials were impressive and it will be interesting to see if they can bring that to the track.
Race 11 is also another highlight of the day. The Class 2 over 1400m sees Silver Express return to a handicap race after finishing ninth in the Hong Kong Derby.
Horse Racing Tips from Charene Woo
Sha Tin Race 6 #7 Solar Power $6.00
Solar Power will return to the track today after a 161-day-spell, and has had a good preparation leading into this./p>
He's had 3 barrier trials in which he was able to demonstrate an ability to stretch out nicely and run on comfortably.
His first-up record good, having finished second behind Charge On on his seasonal debut in September.
He suits this course and distance and if he can find a good position from gate 9 under Karis Teetan, expect him to break his maiden.
Sha Tin Race 7 Tip #3 Dandy Years $2.40
Dandy Years has been impressive in his last two starts.
Having scored his first victory on 14 February, he finished second last time out at this track.
Although he didn't salute that day, it was an impressive performance given he was only beaten by Super Winner, who franked that form-line by winning his next race.
Dandy Years had a barrier trial on 30 March, where he ran on well to finished third under Zac Purton.
Zac will be on board again and from the favourable draw in gate 3, he has a strong chance in this weak field.
