Autumn Finale

This week's Randwick card closes the curtain on a highly successful Autumn carnival for the ATC, highlighted by the Winx farewell last week.

Both the All Aged and Champagne Stakes will provide significant interest this Saturday and are supported by some good quality stakes racing.

Randwick has suffered some track bias throughout the carnival and a close watch of the inside sections is advised once again.

Race 4 James H B Carr Stakes (Group 3, 3yo Fillies) 1400m

There looks to be plenty of speed engaged here, with a number of front runners to push forward.

Major Wager (5) and Etana (10) are the two most likely to win the speed battle.

I loved the run of Into the Abyss (1) last start, where she just missed in the PJ Bell when finishing 2 of 18 at this track and distance. She can go one better here.

Asharani (9) appears to have more upside than most and is from the shrewd Kris Lees yard.

He would not be moving up in grade here (from Hawkesbury BM64 level) if the stable weren't confident. Big betting watch!

You always have to respect the Waller/McEvoy factor and they combine with So Taken (13) in this.

She was good enough in the PJ Bell when placing third and that looks the best form race.

Of the on-speed profiles Etana (10), is the one with residual stoutness, who can still be kicking late to fill a hole.

1st  Into the Abyss

2nd  Asharani

3rd  So Taken

4th  Etana

Race 5 JRA Plate (Group 3, 3yo & Up) 2000m

Race 6 Champagne Stakes (Group 1 2yo) 1600m

Check out our preview of the Champagnes Stakes here, which includes market moves, track analysis, runner comments and tips.

Race 7 All Aged Stakes (Group 1 WFA) 1400m

Read everything you need to know about the All Aged Stakes here, including analysis on all the key runners as well as our top selections.

Race 8 Hall Mark Stakes (Group 3, SW+P) 1200m

Speed looks strong, with Home Of The Brave (7) likely to burn out from a mid draw and take control.

He was a dual acceptor and they have opted to take the easier option here as opposed to the All Aged Stakes

Viridine (5) can run a big race in this and should appreciate the drop back in class following the last start 10 of 12 in the Group 1 Galaxy. He will be mid-field and charging late.

Horse Racing Tips

Queensland visitor Tyzone (2) was a huge run in the Weetwood Hcp at Toowoomba last start, where he missed the jump and flew at the end to narrowly miss.

Throw in Brave Song (12) for wide multiple plays, as he gets the strong tempo to suit and can get home hard.

1st  Home Of The Brave

2nd  Viridine

3rd  Tyzone

4th  Brave Song

Race 9 Randwick 100 Handicap (BM100) 1400m

Don't expect too much speed in this race, as horses drawn wide can opt to travel out there at this stage of the day to take advantage of the better going in the middle to outside sections of the track.

Flow (14) looks the one who can find the best going from his wide draw and he does enjoy this trip (16:5-3-1).

He will sit wide in the moving line before storming late.

I love the consistency of Sweet Scandal (1), who is never far away and has won twice this prep. She will race close to speed in what could be a significant advantage.

Take It Intern (6) arrives fresh and is another big watch in betting, with the James McDonald booking a strong initial lead. The market will tell us late if he is ready.

Track specialist Live And Free (17) (4:3-0-0) has to be included in everything and just needs a touch of tempo to be able to run on.

2nd  Sweet Scandal

3rd  Take It Intern
